I've used both the Clairol & L'Oreal, &, like @marchingalong123, did not have good results with the Clairol one. L'Oreal Root Rescue covers my stubborn greys, & lasts about 3 weeks for me. It's also easier to apply. I've cut down on the amount of times I have to do an all-over color. Really love this product!! Give it a try!!!

The sprayer on the L'Oreal product looks just like the one on Salon In a Bottle that Evine sells, not sure if it is easy to control.

@Shelbelle, I have the one your talking about. I don't like it as I feel it's hard to control, gets on my face! I have been using Color Wow and might try the Madison Reed brand.

I just did my roots about 20 minutes ago. It covered my roots pretty well, the color was good. The only thing is it didn't cover the resistant grays at the temples. I'm curious as to how many weeks it will last.

Anyway the woman that colors my hair is going away for a month and it will be 10 weeks between colorings. I bought Root Rescue, which I have never used before. I get that it is only made for doing your roots, hairline, and temples. I was wondering how long does the color last, 2 weeks, more? Also does it cover the gray well, and is it easy to use?
@Jordan2 .. I have used both. Frankly I didn't notice any difference between the two with the exception of the manner of application and the L'Oreal was a bit cheaper. They are both easy to use and they both covered my gray quite well.

Do all of you color your hair a solid color? I have mine colored at the salon and always want to look natural, not straight out of a bottle. My hair has slight highlights and lowlights so I could never use these root products. It would look like I put streak on my head with an indelible marker. ![]()

I've used it for years and it's simple to use. However, I don't think it lasts long. I'm lucky to get 2 weeks out of it.
Because of that, I think it's pricey. (There's not much product in the box).

I think that there's confusion in this thread.
L'Oreal Root Rescue is a hair dye product to dye gray roots.
L'Oreal Root Cover UP is a temporary spray in a can that you spray on to your roots and that will wash out when you wash your hair. This is useful when you do not have time to dye your roots. But it can also come off on you sunglasses nose piece so be careful when you've perched your glasses on your head and be sure to clean the glasses nosepiece before wearing them.
I've also used the L'Oreal Root Rescue hair dye in the medium brown shade. I don't really like the applicator top for the bottle and I've cut those comb teeth off the applicator top to cut down on the mess.
I've also used Clairol's Root touch up dye too. There isn't enough product in one box to do a very good job though. I need 2 boxes in order to cover all of my roots. That has an applicator brush and you mix the product in a tray and apply it with the enclosed brush. I use the medium brown in that brand too.
