HI!  I have struggled with poison ivy on my face and around my eyes in May and now in June.  I'm taking a tapered steroid regime.  My face is a mess all dry and out of balance. What would you recommend for moisturizers, creams, etc to get my face looking half way decent?  My eyes still a real mess. I can't avoid being where the ivy is because I can get it in the wind and if the neighbor burns his garden waste and he has ivy there I'm back to the doc again.  It's really been bad for me this year. Thanks.

@hellokitty   I'm so sorry you're going through this and worse can't get away from the stuff!!!

Even though your skin is dry, a lightweight moisturizer like Cetaphil or Cerave (w/o any active ingredients) would be best. You don't too much grease to aggravate your pores and clog them.

I hope you get some relief. There are cortisone creams w/o a prescription that might also help, but as I always say, checking with  a derm is your best.

My goodness!  So sorry!  I rub my dog all of the time, so it's just a matter of time.

There is a poison ivy wash  that is marvelous!

Technu!  It's a wash which removes the oils of the plant and will help dry you up.  Be sure to pat dry, not rub dry and use soft paper towels.  You don't want an infection.

@hellokitty

I hope you don't mind me answering since I'm not @Shanus .

I swear by these two products when I've messed up my face with a product that didn't agree with it or for whatever reason it's not "right".  It rarely happens but when it does, I'm thankful I keep these on hand.

@monicakm   I use this serum, too. I don't use the moisturizer.

I don't mind at all.  Thank you for your suggestion!
