Question about foundation color:  I have yellow undertones to my skin & I'm between a light & med. in foundation color.  I have been using Lucy Minerals in a light/med. olive mix.  Lately I'm just not sure it is the best color on me.  Maybe I don't need the olive undertone in foundation.  Thinking about  the TSV & wondering if the light (still yellow) or the light beige would work.  Any thoughts?

@2penny  Maybe Shanus can be more helpful. Why are you not sure that lucy's in the olive tone does not quite work for you? I am a light to med complexion with a neutral undertone & I wear Med.Beige. It's discribed as a light neutral but on me its a light to med. neutral which is hard to find in foundations. The Light might be too light for you. The light Beige would be too pink imo.The Q does not carry all the shades but if I were you imo, I would go to Sephora as they have more shades to offer. Try out the med. beige & the Golden Beige. They have an insider, vib & rouge sale coming soon this month. Good Luck. Take over Shanus!  : I would like to add that some people have to mix 2 shades. Let's say the light 08 with the med. beige. Sun lover's need a deeper shade in the warmer months. I would suggest to test those shades out at Sephora or Ulta.

@2penny  I agree...   it sounds like the MED BEIGE would be a good color.   I use that for most of the year, except in the summer, I switch to MED TAN.  The Med Beige is very forgiving and great for skin with a yellow undertone.   It's a warm color.   It's not dark and can work for people who are on the lighter side of medium as well as true mediums.

Thank you @kabella  & @nyc1.  I'm about 2 hrs away from a big town so I can't check out shades before this TSV is over.   I'll consider med. beige.  When I used BE before I think I used one of the lights & it was too light.  My skin just looks kind of dull lately which is probably not the fault of the foundation.

@2pennyMy skin has a lot of yellow in it and I have to be careful about going too light as well. I'm a medium but the yellow in my skin makes a lot of foundations appear lighter and pinker than they would on others.  Medium Beige does not do that to me.   I also LOVE Smashbox Halo in Medium.   That's actually my favorite.

I hope whatever you decide, that it works for you.

@2penny   Sometimes yellow/olive undertones actually do better w/ a neutral shade of foundation. In BM, I'm only familiar w/ the more fair tones. Maybe the shade chart on the BM site better describes which medium shades are neutral...not pink or yellow.

It's also not uncommon to be between two shades. For awhile, I was tapping out a bit of Fairly Light and Fair to get a better match. As I got older, my skin became more fair. So now Fair alone is a good shade.

@Shanus I did look at the BM site & found 30 shades in the regular size foundation & only 12 in the larger size.  There are a couple of med. neutral shades in the regular size that might work.  I think I will pass on the TSV & try a small size first.  Thanks for your help.- I'm anxious to see if a neutral shade will make me look less muddy!

@2penny   Good morning. The term "muddy" usually means a too yellow, pink or too orange foundation for the skin tone. Think of mixing paint colors like those together & you usually come up with a brownish mess...mud. Lol I'm hoping this works out for you. Sometimes at the holidays, Q and BM stores offer the lg. sizes of foundation in more shades. I'm just as happy w/ the smaller ones. The larger ones can be a little awkward and I think one yr. they did not  have the lock type top jar. Some of us also received 1/2 full containers that had to be returned...the container was definitely twice the size, but definitely not the contents. Keep in touch and let me know how this shade works.

Not sure your age or if you're a reg. BM wearer, but as a final touch, if you think there's a "powdery" look, I use a slightly damp mu sponge to dab over the foundation/mineral veil when finished (if I don't feel like using a setting spray or rose water spray). Please feel free to ask any other questions.

During the wintertime my complexion is usually a slightly lighter shade than it is during the summer...that's pretty normal I think for most people. So during the winter I apply a lighter foundation all over then take my 'summer shade' and apply that to the planes of my face where I would normally get sun. For me that technique gives dimension to an otherwise flat look, without actually doing contour application of various shades and highlighters.
