I certainly agree with you. I only purchase items that I'm sure that I will keep. Clothing is impossible as they all run differently and you cannot depend on their so called sizing charts. There is a big difference between online shopping and brick and mortar stores and QVC was once aware of that and did credit your original shipping cost and you had options of how to return items. Now, once you enter the zip code at the PO, they charge more than their pre-printed label forcing you to use it. I read that online sales have a 20% return rate yet many retailers still credit the original shipping and offer options of returning. That's just good business. QVC is taking advantage of their popularity and high sales but I think this will eventually catch up to them. I know that I purchase far less from them solely because of their return policy. Not everyone is willing to pay $10.00 to try something.

I don't order anything form QVC (or ANY other retailer) that doesn't offer free returns when it comes to something that has to be matched or sized (makeup, shoes, rings) UNLESS I already know the product works for me/how the vendor sizing works.
There are some amazing deals at QVC; you just have to shop wisely to take advantage of them. I hit up Sephora or Ulta for something new before ordering it off of the Q; often, seeing it in person, it's a "meh" instead of a WOW.

@fthunt wrote:Feel this way? For cosmetics - not really. QVC can not resell a bottle (or whatever the container) because (pardon the description) you have stuck your finger in it - applied to your skin - and perhaps handled the product again. Federal and health laws would frown on the Q reselling to another customer - so that container is a total loss to the seller. Suggestion: go to cosmetic section at dept store where they have samples.
Although I have to wonder whether they are selling off used cosmetic returns, b/c there are so many "testers" on eBay with partial contents, some of which are listed as "new." Most of the sellers specialize in lines from QVC. I don't know, but I also don't see other brands with so many of these so-called "testers."

I Rarely buy anymore it just is not a good way to buy especially clothes and shoes by the time you send back and even get another return it's more by far then you can buy.
so..... I don't buy usually unless it's something I know I won't return. Also I had a couple things on auto delivery and was NOT notified of it Before it was sent ( very sneaky qvc) so I got rid of all my auto deliverys and rarely order. I even called qvc and the woman told me they notify but they didn't. It gets old.

Really? I just returned 3 tops in the same package and was only charged $6.95 once. They weren't even the same brands or from the same order. I hold my breath every time though because I feel at some point they will start charging me $6.95 for each item.

I've done this several times and (shame on me) I've failed to check to see what I was charged. Honestly I did it each time to help out with the mailman and postal service - easier to deal with one package than four or five. I plan to continue sending more than one item if I have more to return. Makes sense to me.

I've long felt S&H was a revenue stream for online/broadcast retailers. Some have moved to more reasonable fees; others haven't. I also feel S&H is part of the cost of doing business. Especially if you want to ship it to me after I've ordered it from a television presentation. I pay S&H fees at the regular stores too. It's just in the cost of the item. I still don't like the newest shipping policy at the Q. Prefer the older one.

@beautydiva wrote:I love the Q but you buy a foundation it the wrong color, or anything for that fact. I pay $3 shipping which is a great price but shipping price should be part of your return considering I have to pay $6.95 to return it.
So this item cost me $10 just to try it and find out i don't like it. Boy this is annoying, when it comes to foundation you really need to see the colors and try it out and return it for free at a store. Anyways I really wish QVC would do like free returns like Nordstoms and so many other companies or refund the shipping costs like other companies do. The Q is a billion dollar buisness. I just find this sad.. Anyone else feel this way
@beautydiva It really doesn't make a difference how you or anyone else "feels". The fact is, QVC depends on revenue from s&h charges to balance their books. Sometimes it makes the difference between operating in the red or black. They are not going to change it, so if you find it unfair or sad perhaps it's best to find somewhere else to shop.

I rarely purchase from QVC anymore and I only purchase if I know I will keep the item. The same thing with Amazon. For Sephora, I'm in the Flash program (pay 10 dollars per year and get free shipping no minimum) and I can return to the store if I need to (I rarely do). Same with Old Navy, I can buy online and return to the store. But I'm lucky to live in an area with a lot of stores near me. Not everyone is in that situation.

I completely agree! QVC needs to enter the 21st century as most on-line retailors have free shipping and returns not to mention competitive pricing and frequent sales. Because of this QVC is my last choice when purchasing an item. I prefer going directly to source or to another retailer.
