Sorry for the loss of your pet @ladygirl.

When was the last time you purchased a new pillow? Many times facial swelling is because the pillow has flattened out and there is no gravity assisting to reduce swelling of the face at night.

A higher pillow or elevating the head of the bed might also ease any swelling.

I've tried sleeping with a thicker pillow, but I have a foam pillow from JCP from a long time ago and nothing compares! lol I know I should sleep with a thicker one, this eye thing is really awful.  At first I saw it around allergy time, and still wake up with a little puffy under one eye.  Forget crying I can just plan on it now!  I'm trying not to complain, my eyes have really no issues except for blepharitis, allergies and some puffiness.  I have no lines yet thank goodness.

So sorry for your loss. I have cried a lot too. Try ice and then apply egg white. It helps.

Re: Puffy Swollen Eyes From Crying

I just wanted to say, sorry for your loss. I just lost my first dog ever after 14 yrs.

It is devistating as you have lost a family member.

Take comfort in knowing her spirit remains with you.

Don't have any new ideas for your puffiness other than the tea bags.

Take Care and tears are a part of your healing process.

Your friends will understand.

Re: Puffy Swollen Eyes From Crying

It is heartbreaking to read posts when our beloved pets leave our world....when this happened to me I cried so that my face became distorted and I didn't recognize myself...it's your heart that hurts and it just takes time ....though we never forget our precious partners that gave us unconditional joy and love....be kind to yourself...much love

Adding my sympathy as well.  It's so hard losing a beloved pet.  Be comforted that you gave your furbabby a happy life.

For your eyes, try chilled used teabags - caffeinated green tea is best.  Lean back and put your feet up.  Apply the teabags to your eyes, making sure the puffy area is completely covered.  Stay put for about 30 mins.

Make sure you're using the right tea bag.  My poor Aunt did tea bags on her eyes when she was visiting my grandma but didn't realize she grabbed Red Zinger tea!  She looked like she got the cr@p beat out of her!!  No colored tea!! Smiley LOL
