I wore nail strengtheners and nail polish for more than 50 years, removing it with acetone polish remover and reapplying it daily, and my nails were fragile and continued to peel. A year ago, I stopped using strengtheners, polish, and remover and my nails are no longer weak nor do they peel. I also have had yogurt 6 breakfasts out of 7 with eggs the seventh morning every week and my nails grow so fast that I have to file them once each week. I hope this helps.

Edited to add: I wash dishes with Palmolive original dish soap w/o gloves.

Please elaborate about the Miracle Clear. Is it like a clear polish that you have to take off or is it sort of a rub in? Thanks much.

Miracle Cure. It is a clear polish.

After lots of struggle, supplements etc I had to accept that naturally long, strong nails were not in my DNA. I now go for a neat, relatively short length. And I use a basic Sally Hansen drug store formula -- Miracle Cure -- to keep them shiny and to keep them from peeling. I've grown to like this look.

I think I have to agree. I take Lessman's HHSN supplements so my nails are healthy, but they are not long. I'm getting those vertical ridges that are discussed in another thread and attributed to age. It seems if I can get my nails out beyond a certain length, they split where that ridge is. Peeling has become an issue, too, so I think I should look for the SH product. I'm thinking of calling it quits with the supplement, but keep hanging in there, thinking they're doing something for my hair and skin. {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

I think I am the only woman in America for whom the Lessman supplements did not work. Women swear by them. They did little to nothing for me.

I've used both the Duri Rejuvacote and the Nailtique 2. Both are great. The Nailtique line is sold at CVS but I haven't seen the Duri anywhere but online.

Oh, and biotin, too. Nailtiques and biotin are a great combo for me

I had nails that were so bad that I couldn't even keep polish on them for more than a day or two without chips. I even went to the salon and had regular manicures for almost a year without much improvement. Then, I discovered Nailtiques (from this forum) and I found out my Walgreens had it in stock. I went down that day and purchased it and started using it. Since then, I use Nailtiques weekly, put a coat of polish on, then a quick drying top coat (Seche Vite) and my nails are so strong that I have to file them down. I eat healthy and take my vitamins and calcium, but I do nothing else special.
