Have you tried yogurt, and eliminating nail products and acetone remover (see #10)?

Nailtiques Formula II. This is one of the best on the market. Sold at Ulta and drugstores.

A beauty blogger I know uses Nail Tek Intensive Therapy II and it works great for her. Her nails have grown out and are very strong.

You may still have some peeling until your nail grows out, which will take 2-3 months.

I eat yogurt four times a week, but my nails peel so bad they look awful without having Something on them, I have used the Avon gel polish and vinylux and that helps hide the peeling. Did the biotin, the vitamins, Nailtiques, dura, solar oil etc.

So sorry to read that you're having such problems with your nails. When I removed all the nail products, I had to file the peeling areas down but the rest of my nail tips were fine, and continue to be fine.

My nails were always just fine, no peeling, until late last summer, wen. They became very weak and peeling. I'd never had this problem and didn't know what to do. I finally hit on something completely by accident. I use Wen and started using the Wen oils on my scalp a few evenings a week. About 6-8 weeks later, I noticed my nails were getting better...more like what they used to be. I couldn't figure out what had happened...I didn't change my diet, etc. the more I thought about it, the more I decided the Wen oils might have been what made the difference, because I would massage them into my scalp, with my fingers, then go off to bed. I started using the oils on my cuticles every night and my nails are as good as they ever were. About 6 months ago I mentioned this to my sister and she said he had peeling nails, too. I gave her a bottle of the Wen oil and voila, her nails are great now, too, so it wasn't just me. Oh, and my sister is still too skeptical to use Wen on her hair,,but she sure let's me know if her w wen oil is running low, :-) hope, that helps.

I've used both the Duri Rejuvacote and the Nailtique 2. Both are great. The Nailtique line is sold at CVS but I haven't seen the Duri anywhere but online.

I have seen Duri Rejuvacote at Walmart, but I like Formula 2 which is more natural, that I get online on ebay.

I have the problems above. Nails peel, split and refuse to grow. I attribute it to age in a way, but I also did fake nails for about three months once, and that definitely did some damage that endures till today.

I have tried the pink gel from QVC more than once. It seems to make the peeling problem worse, and the stuff thickens badly, even though it is always closed tight when not in use. I will not buy it again. I have also tried TIPS, even going to TIPS For Toes for the stronger formula. No help. I am now taking Biotin in the hope that this might help. I've tried all the over the counter products mentioned above. Nothing. I don't care for milk and I wonder if this makes a difference, maybe I need a calcium supplement. Thumb nails and index fingers seem to be fairly strong but my middle fingers and ring fingers just will not grow. Makes for odd looking hands., and some weird cuticle issues.

I take Andrew Lessman vitamins (Women's Complete), and I did try his Hair Skin and Nails, but saw no difference. I will try to find some of the Sally Hansen Miracle Cure today at the pharmacy. Hope springs eternal!!

The person who invents a real "cure" for nail issues will surely become an overnight billionaire!

While these products may work for some people, I honestly believe that for many the problem is just genetic. I have always had weak nails. The minute I start putting on polish, nail strengtheners, etc, they get worse. Peeling, splitting, etc. I do best with nothing on them, I use a cuticle oil I get from Sallly' s called Avocado oil, and a good hand cream. They're not long, but they're healthy. I've always eaten enough protein and calcium, etc.
