Me three!  I'm blemish-prone, and always keep my salicylic acid products close at hand, because I need them so often.

@soonersis, that sounds like plain ol' irritation, not an allergic reaction. Perhaps you were using too much too soon or you are a candidate for starting more slowly with the 1%.

I was able to use her 1% BHA product without any irritation, but I tried 2 different times, years apart, using the 2% BHA, and it's just too strong for me.

@ soonersis

What is the purpose of an aspirin mask?

@Tinkrbl44, I read about an aspirin mask on Makeup Alley.  I take about 6-8 aspirin and add a few drops of water.  You let it soak for a few minutes until the aspirin disolve and it forms a paste.  I spread that on my face and let dry for around 10-20 minutes.  When washing off it has an exfoliating effect and leaves my skin feeling soft and clean.  I also have done this with just one aspirin when I have a blemish.  I will put this on the blemish and leave over night.  This helps to dry it up.
