I was going to mention that if you prefer to take the bamboo silica supplement in a capsule form rather than the lose powder, then I would recommend the pipingrock brand, item number 10140 . Their's is pure and the price is reasonable. That's the product I started with until I switched to the lose powder which I find more economical.

@SilleeMee- in the capsule form (300 mg ea) how many would you take a day.  I think the bottle said 1 a day.

I take 600mg of the loose powder daily (dose recommended on the bag of loose powder). So that would equate to two 300mg caps. I know the bottle says to take one daily. There really isn't an established standard dose for this so the doses can vary from one brand to another. I've seen brands fall between 250mg to 800mg for daily dosages. @2penny

eta - The amount is not real critical. Your body only uses what it needs then the excess goes in the toilet.

Thanks @SilleeMee, I'm going to try it.  I've had a tiny vertical split at the end of my thumbnail for a few years now.  Tried biotin & gelatin with no change.
