@Jordan2

I was just thinking of this today. When I pass on, my kids will wonder what the heck was our mother thinking? I have so much makeup, especially lipsticks, that is my major sickness. I am determined to go through my drawers tomorrow and toss a bunch of lipsticks and other makeup OUT. It embarrasses me just thinking about what my kids would be thinking and saying about all this hoarding.

I do better in decluttering my clothes closets, but when it comes to makeup and skincare, it's down right ridiculous.

I don't have tons of makeup and skincare, everything I have fits in my bathroom drawers except for my body lotions. I have a container of back ups stored elsewhere. I buy them about once a year, maybe twice, and stock up during the BBW semi annual sales.

But I do still have stuff I'm not using and I am working on using it up or tossing it. I bought too many backups and I don't mind having a back up, or even two, of regular items that I use, but I'm tired of having a bunch of sample sizes and things I don't care for. I am working on trying to just stick with core products that I like and not keep buying different things to try. I usually end up disappointed.

By the way, over on the Home forum, we have a Declutter, what have you purged today? thread if anyone would like to join in, we would love it!

I started my organizing and decluttering today. I arranged my Bath & Bodyworks hand soaps ( I have a lot) and my sanitizers. Organized my body lotions, shower gels, and hair products. Next to tackle is my skincare and makeup.

Well, I just have my makeup to organize which will be the biggest task. A lot of the skincare I have came from the Beauty With Benefits gifts I got from QVC and HSN. I also bought the box QVC had from the various vendors they made available because they weren't doing it in person ( I forgot what it's called). I have no business buying any skincare, hair care, or makeup for a very long time. I will be sitting on my hands and resisting the urge to buy.

Oh boy congrat's to all who have purged your drawer's of unwanted things.

My boyfriend has been out of town for over a week, coming home in a day or so.  I decided I would make a "clean up and out" situation out of it in my half of the bathroom closet's and my half of the closet (it has shelve's too).  Oh I dreaded it but found as far as clothes and even drawer's go to get started is to throw everything either onto the floor (with clothes) and for make up, lotions, etc to empty the drawer's and put them on the counter.  You are stuck then and are forced.

However, I did things over a few days and spent 3 hours at a time.

Well, I'm done and I feel so good.  I'm contantly ordering these large blonde bobby pins from Amazon.  Guess what?  In the back of top bathroom drawer where my makeup is I found at least 50 of them shoved into the back along with so much other junk!Woman Surprised It was disgusting.

I wiped down each drawer and cleaned.  Have a big bag  of old jean's going for donation already out in the garage.

Everything is so empty to me now as far as the makeup, etc drawers in bathroom drawer's are but I feel cleansed.

I'm even back to color coating all my jacket's and blazer's again too.

I feel accomplished. And I'm keeping it this way!

Good luck all.

@Jordan2  thank you.  You never know what's lurking in the back of cabinet's and drawer's. You might find a hidden gem back there.

Look at the 50 long bonde bobby pins I found that I kept ordering.

Wait a minute, what was I thinking?  Where did all those bobby pins go?  We have a real clean house.  Duh on me!

@Pink123 have you ever bought something not knowing you already have it, I almost did! I was interested in Drunk Elephant retinol serum, I found a full size one I got in a beauty box I think from QVC. I also have several small Sunday Riley Good Genes to checkout before I would buy one.

After saying to myself I will declutter my makeup every week, I finally got around to it today. I'm getting rid of a lot I'll never miss, and didn't use ( I thought I HAD to have it). Next step is fine tuning, arranging my makeup. I can't believe how much money I have wasted buying makeup and skincare I didn't even use, my name is Jordan2 and yes I am a beauty (hoarder) addict!
