It appears blush is a very common weakness with ladies that wear makeup both here and on YouTube. I probably have a dozen. I'm happy with the way my makeup is organized but every now and then I have to straighten it up because of being in a hurry and just throwing items back on the cart instead of their respective bins. I've done three declutters in the last year or more. To complete declutters and most recently one of my eyeshadow palettes. I'm currently battling not trying the Haus Labs Foundation and replacing a Dior lip gloss that I'm running out of. If I only had one or two lip glosses, I would replace it but with 70ish, I feel the need to use what's in my stash. I still see things I want when watching Beauty YouTubers but I'm able to refrain. Only thing I have coming in the mail from Sephora is a bottle of perfume. As reviews come in for that, it's looking like it may be going back.

@Jordan2   A natural makeup and skincare junkie here. There definitely should bbe a 12 step program for us. Lol

I do try to evaluate what I'm not using or loving every 6 months. I do it by having a makeup basket on my vanity and each day I use something in the morning (brushes, pencils or makeup), it goes in the basket on top of my vanity while I'm doing my face. At the end of 6 months, items left in the drawer or in the glass mugs of pencils, gloss, etc. get a serious look over and possible declutter.

I've been trying really hard to check what I have before I order online or go to the mall. It's a sure thing I'll stop in at Sephora or Ulta "just to see" what's new and shiny.

COUNT ME IN!  I'm very neatly organized,  but purchase way too much.   I have enough for several lifetimes!   I have the items I use in my regular rotation in my Master bath and all my back ups in my middle bedroom closet shelf in clear containers stacked on each other.  I also have a lucite holder for my lipstick back ups that are next line to be used.

I just discovered cream blush (thanks to @monicakm,  and your suggestion to watch the video) and had to buy not one or two.....   but 9 (!!!!!),  and am enjoying them all ...  not to mention the new brushes for applicatoin that I saw in the video.

I love it all...   I don't wear foundation any longer,  but am a sucker for blushes, lip items, and brick colored shadows (!!!).

I have a blast with make up.   I send some of it to my sister on a regular basis and she loves that.  I also have a friend who cannot afford much,  so she gets much of what I haven't used or back ups that I have duplicates of.

This is what I should do with all the music I have! (I am mentally working on it.) In the beauty world, I hate running out of something, so I have a small organized collection of backups.

Boredom is not my problem.

In defense of the purchases, if something is not performing as reasonably expected, you go on to something else. Once you've found that, that's when you (me!) need to get rid of the old.

As DH once pointed out, he can get by with a bar of soap and a razor. Definitely not me!

@Harpa Your husband is funny!  I do, however, think he is almost right.  I believe that you really can get by with 2 of everything makeup--a warmer shade and a cooler medium shade of everything that is a good choice for you.

I honestly think that finding neutral shades that enhance your look and are very wearable, 2 will do.  Perfect? No. Your "best look" ever, possible not.  But make you look good, get rid forever of clutter, take makeup to a 5 minute piece of your life every day?  Yes.  I think you can do it.

I don't have an issue with make up and I do use but pretty much same stuff.  I have my go to items and now and then try something new.

My area is too many clothes but have improved.  I just stop buying things I don't need and purged and organized what I have.  Doing good.  I am keeping at it too.  Closets look good right now.

I went looking yesterday and did not buy anything.  Didn't see anything that appealed to me.  I have better items in my closet than what they are showing in the stores lately.  Prices are higher everywhere.

I went to buy a clear bag for concerts and games.  Need it for this Sunday and found the perfect bag at Target in the girls department.  Just happened to check because I was not finding at any of the stores unless ordered on line.  It is a cute bag and perfect size.  Has a crossbody strap or can use the handles.  Has 3 cute flowers on it.  Does not look like a kids purse either but perfect.  It was worth the search and did not care for any I saw on line.

@Roscoe the Rascal  I had to do the same for a venue we frequent.  They put the hammer down on regular purses.  You can only carry a small wallet size clutch or dump all your stuff in a gallon size baggie. I certainly need more than a wallet and a ziploc bag is tacky looking so I went to the big "A" and found a clear plastic purse.  The last time we were at that venue, one of the ticket takers commented saying, "Now that's the way to do it!"  That's fine, but it kinda takes the fun out of having a collection of nice purses that rarely get used. ☹️🤷‍♀️

@Jordan2 You can see you are not alone.

I have so many eyeshadows!

And a wardrobe of blush.

My husband is so nice about it. I'll say someone is going to have to go through all of this when I am dead!

He just laughs & asks if I enjoy it now? I do.

I love to pull out something different every day. I very rarely wear the same makeup twice in a row.

I randomly pull out an eyeshadow or blush & that is what I am working with that day!

@Jordan2 ---HELLO-----my name is wagirl and  am addicted to makeup/skincare---Woman Wink

Yes I too, have a ton of stuff that I need to use up or toss--I did get rid of alot a few years back but still have more to do. BUT....... I am NOT buying nearly as much as I did before----and if anything I use doesn't look good on me or smells or is just years old---I toss it. Had a bunch of eye shadows that I never wore---they got tossed. My make up routine has changed drastically, colors are more neutral now--don't wear make up much, except for going out in public which is just for dr appts. I just use my skincare everyday and night. You are in good company!!!Woman Very Happy

I have been at this for in major way for weeks now and am worn slick. Not getting rid of really as much as organizing.  Getting rid of comes with cooler weather and the attic.

This morning I am going through costume jewelry that was my mom and aunt's and this afternoon it is the guest room closet for what I HOPE is the last real shuffle in there.

I've lost 2 sizes that I needed to shed so LOTS of clothes have gone and that's good. Then it's on to shoes. It has been overwhelming at times.
