IT brushes are the best, IMO, but I've also found some Real Techniques and Eco Tools brushes that I like. The best way to get IT brushes is to either buy a brush kit when they're doing a Black Friday sale on the website or buy a product on QVC that comes with a brush. I've gotten a bunch of them that way and it's a very good value when you compare the kits to the brush price alone on Jamie's site. I'm buying kits with core products that I'd want anyway, so it makes sense to get them this way, but there was one time when I bought the matte bronzer compact kit just to get that luxurious fan brush. The fact that I ended up liking the bronzer was a bonus...LOL

I saw that brush/bronzer last night and almost ordered. Especially after I saw the brush on the IT site for $48.

Re: Obsessed with brushes.........

For me it is the IT Brushes. I can't find much in the IT cosmetic line that works for me, but I do love the brushes. Bought some on Ebay.

Re: Obsessed with brushes.........

Having the right brush for the job is so important isn't it? Makes applying makeup so much more enjoyable. I use an inexpensive (at $9.99) Kabuki brush from Essence of Beauty sold at CVS for my Laura Geller pink grapefruit baked blush. This brush is so soft and thick. A little product goes a long way when I buff it on. Love the brush, love the results.

I love the IT brushes. I have the kit in the silver case, and lots of her products that came with brushes. IMHO they are the best.. They really make her products go on better and feel amazing on the skin.

Andreatoo, I don't have any real techniques brushes. But I know, after reading numerous threads here regarding brushes, that many many posters love RT.

For me, I love the feel of IT brushes - the weight, the grip handles, the sheer decadent plushness.

I also have 2 Tarte brushes I love. And my newest is an Eco Tools (Ulta) bronzer - relatively inexpensive. Bamboo. Ecologically aware.

Re: Obsessed with brushes.........

I have had an obsession with brushes for at least 25+ years. And back then, they did make a huge difference when applying any kind of m/u. They were also real hair bristle brushes back then. Now that the majority of brushes, both high end and lower end, are made from synthetic bristles, I don't think there is anywhere near the degree of difference there once was. I think finding the right design for the right task matters much more and you can find good ones at both ends of the spectrum.

IT brushes are great but they are so thick that they only work for certain products, for me anyway. And I find myself leaning more and more to duo fiber and/or stipple type brushes for most of my powders, from foundations to bronzers to highlighters to blush, etc. They just permit so much more control and you can apply as little or as much as you want.

I think Real Techniques makes a great brush for the price. I like Sigma's too though they can also be very thick. Thick does not always determine the quality for me.

I never thought I would prefer synthetic brushes but have found they are easier to clean, far less susceptible to bacteria, obviously less harmful to animals and they very rarely shed. I would say quality synthetics don't shed. That is a really important factor to me because I despise shedding - makes me crazy!

I never thought I'd prefer synthetic bristles but that is because they use to have a really harsh, cheap feel whereas present day synthetics often feel even softer than the real hair bristles today.

Re: Obsessed with brushes.........

Unfortunately, SB brushes always shed on me so as much as I like them, I don't use mine anymore.
