The only brush that stands out in my memory as NOT withstanding the test of time is a Clinique brush.
I got some brushes as a GWP many moons ago and gave my Mom the blush brush because, as I recall, she was just using the small brush that comes in the compact with the blush. Probably Revlon. I wash that brush when I do mine and it is losing its shape, with stray bristles and losing bristles and really no longer soft. I keep begging her to let me replace it. She says she likes it. Mothers can be so infuriating.

Maybe I'll just have to drop by Ulta and pick up a brush on sale. ![]()

I have found that GWP brushes, along with most brush sets, are just not the same quality as the brushes you would buy individually. I have actually read this too by someone who was in the cosmetic industry (manufacturing cosmetics, that is) warning consumers about this.
Brushes sold in sets and GWP sets are not made with the same standards that the individual brushes are and I have found that you can usually detect the difference pretty darn quick after using a few times.
The Holiday brush sets are very tempting but I have avoided purchasing because I keep remembering this. I also think many sold on ebay are from these sets so have not succumbed to buying there either. A good price is only a good price if the quality is there.

Good to know, Wackers! Thank you! ![]()
I do know I've read where some posters had an IT brush, and liked it so much they purchased one of the Holiday Sets Jamie did. They said they thought the brushes were inferior.
I've bought my IT brushes individually and they all have the black handles.
Some posters who received clear Lucite and/or shiny metal handles were less happy. It's interesting to watch which brush gets included with a product.
That IT bronzer mega fan brush looks AWESOME!!!
I'm on the fence. Jamie's newest eyeliner brush looks very interesting. But my eyelids are so crepey I'm still not sure anything would work to get a tightline.
I dream of being able to afford Perricone's AGE eye cream.

I have many brushes but the brush I am using lately more often is Real Technique's Blush Brush. It is so soft, cut in layers that dome at the top. I expecially like it for pigmentated powder blushes such as tartes etc. Just give's such a flawless finish which I can compare to Sigma's Mac etc.. You can purchase it on its own for 8.99 at ULTA.
To the OP, I bought the BE blush brush you bought a few years back & couldn't return it fast enough. If you don't like it, just return it since you just bought it. I personally don't like angle brushes for blush.

French Boutique Blush Brush $34.50
ETA: The bristles are very loosely packed. It's impossible to pick up too much product at once. So you can't end up with clown cheeks. Just sweep the blush up toward the temples. Or some prefer to start at the temple and brush down toward the cheekbone. Don't put blush on the apple of the cheek and don't go beyond the center of your eye. ala Wayne Goss
The original photo is not showing up. But wanted to come back and say how much I LOVE this brush. I bought several of the IT brushes but this is the one I pick up most of the time.

For makeup brushes, I've found the ones designed for use with your brand of makeup work best.

My favorite are "Jane Iredale's", the best I have used in my life. "the Handi" is perfect for putting on powder foundation and blush.
I have used this line for years and now own all her brushes.

I love both Sigma and It Cosmetic brushes. If you love It cosmetic brushes go to the Ulta website now or to the store on or after 8/31. It has 3 new lines of brushes! The choices are amazing. You can pick from sets or individual.
