I worked for many years in a very busy ER. Physicians are the worst! One of them was telling me and a coworker that he was very angry with another physician. Instead of saying that he was "livid" with the other physician, he said that he was "lipid" with him. Lipids are fats in the blood. My coworker and I could hardly keep ourselves together.

Since then every time we see each other we use the word lipid to describe our anger or irritation. I hope that I don't use it around someone who doesn't know the backstory.

I love this! But you're right about doctors -- some of their notes are shocking (but unintentionally funny). And to think they'll be part of the medical record forever...
