They have been found to be helpful with circulation in general, and that would also include circulation in the ears.
Jean, what brand would you recommend? Thank you.
I'm not terribly loyal to one brand. I had originally tried one from Vitacost and when I wanted to reorder, it was out of stock so I had to select something else. From what I've read, a lot of the citrus bioflavanoids comes from yellow citrus fruits so lemon on it's own is popular. If you've heard the radio commercial for Lipo Flavanoid Plus, that one has lemon bioflavanoids in it. (It's pricey, but that was where I began investigating ingredients and then finding a lest costly option.) Other things I've read don't just single out lemon, but say "citrus". Right now, I'm using Twinlabs Citrus Bioflavanoid Caps. One thing I neglected to mention in my original post is that whatever brand you choose, you also want Rutin in the blend besides the lemon/citrus bioflavanoids and hesperidin. It's my understanding that the Rutin is key in how well the the other ingredients work. Keep in mind, nothing will cure tinnitus. I've only had lessening of the sound of those cicadas chirping in my ears.
Thank you! Just ordered it. I'm not taking any meds or anything, so I'll give it a go.
Good luck with it. It might as much as a couple of months before you notice any improvement. The good thing is that it's not all that expensive so patience is affordable.

Actually, I did. 7 or 8 years ago, I woke up with that gawd awful ringing in my ears. Tinnitus, they call it. Many different things can cause the problem and depending on the cause, there are treatments. But in my case, like yours, the cause was unknown. I had all the tests and finally I was told to be patient and the ringing would eventually cease. I remember he suggested zinc supplements, a mild sedative and some device that would mask the sound. Some herbal stuff that I can't remember now. I didn't do any of that. I just learned how to block the sound from my mind. I slept with the tv on. I suspect that mine wasn't as severe severe as some cases. At any rate, you can find information on Web MD.

....we call a doctor like that....a quack.

I've had tinnitus for years So far ENT;s said there's no cure. Some days are worse than others. I think e should keep in touch just incase someone discovers something that eases it.

But, no solution to help with the problem.
Does anyone have this and what helped you?
Thanks

I have the ringing for no known reason. It is not haring loss as I have had my hearing checked and the doctor says I have remarkable hearing, even with the ringing, for someone my age. My ear doctor says the only thing that MIGHT work is the supplement Lipo-Flavonoid Plus, but I wasn't able to keep up with it because you have to take it 3X/day and I just can't remember. The intensity of the ringing ebbs and flows, but I can mostly ignore it. Mine is a very high pitched ringing that sounds almost like the beginning of feedback from a sound system. I used to think it was coming from the TV because I keep it on whenever I am home except when I'm sleeping.

I had that 2 years ago. It was making me crazy. It was constant and I had to sleep with a fan running to help with the ringing. My ENT told me to limit my sodium to 500mg a day. I thought he was crazy since I don't have high Blood Pressure or any other condition. It was crazy difficult since even 1 slice of bread can have 200mg of sodium. I did this because I was desperate and it worked! He told me it's about a constant sodium level everyday and try to eliminate the spikes. For me that meant no more subway subs. I've built myself back up to 1,500 which still isn't easy but worth it. I used to think I was low sodium because I didn't use a salt shaker but I was wrong. If you add up the sodium in everything you eat, it would be shocking. I hope you feel better soon.
