I was recently watching a beauty You Tuber that I follow review Nyx's Ultimate Color Shadow Palette in Vintage Jean Baby.
She liked the palette below, but the colors pictured with box around them were "face pigments not recommended for eye use". There were 5 colors that she was unable to use. She didn't know how to use these face pigments.
Can someone explain how to use these face pigments and why would Nyx include them in an eye shadow palette? I'm assuming there are people that don't read directions and will use them as shadow anyway.

@San Antonio Gal - Can't answer your question but I find it really odd that NYX would put shadows in a palette that can't be used on the eyes. I wonder what it is that makes them unusable as an eyeshadow? What are you supposed to do with them? How very strange.

I'm not sure what face pigments are, but how did the Youtuber know which ones were for the face instead of eyes? Are they listed as such?

@teganslaw - On the instructions, there's a diagram with the boxes around the "face pigments".

They are made in Taiwan. Perhaps there is something "off" with the translation.
I am of the understanding that any "face" makeup can also be used as eye makeup.....EXCEPT FOR LIPSTICK.
@Shanus Can you provide insight on this? di

It’s because it contains a pigment agent not approved for the eye area by the FDA. It usually either causes staining or irritation.
@RollTide2008 - well it still baffles me then as to why NYX would put such shades in a palette when there so many other options out there for them.

This is odd. Where else would those dark colors be used on the face?

The blue pigments cant be used on the eyes? I guess if someone was dressing as a Smurf or an Avatar character for Halloween, they can use them for face contouring ! That's a cute palette, I'd probably forget the warning and use them on my eyes anyway

It's got to be a mistake.
