now that the damage from my July cruise nails is gone, I'm liking my very short natural nails. Just a light pink sheer polish or sometimes only a clear coat. I do love a short mani with dark polish but I can't wear that successfully. My nails are tiny and it makes them look even smaller.

Seeing the underside of super long fakes, in person or on tv, makes me 🤢

The long nails with designs on them,are very distracting,on host.

When you lose some one you L~O~V~E, that Memory of them, becomes a TREASURE.

@Kitty Galore

....not that I wouldn't mind a maid or gardener some day....LOL

Mine are natural as well.  Once I stopped biting them (around 18 yrs old!) they grow in long and strong.

I am lucky to just never seem to crack or break a nail!

I enjoy colorful toenails but I keep my fingernails short and if I do wear polish these days, it's a clear base with glitter.  I used to do light pinks/flesh colored nails to elongate my fingers.

@RespectLife  same here ,  I was a nail biter then my older favorite cousin told me if I stopped biting and let them grow she would teach me how to do a manicure like hers ,  she had beautiful long nails .   I was 15 then ,  and have had long strong , hardly ever break nails ever since !   I intend on having them till I die as long as they stay strong .

Re: Noticing Shorter Nails

[ Edited ]

I've enjoyed doing my nails since my teen years. Back then (1960s) it was frosted white polish. As a young adult I continued to pride myself on having slim pretty hands and small oval nails. Kept the nails long and always polished. Mostly favoring brick or deep berry colors. Such was the case when I had to go on bedrest a week before my first child was born. I was deathly bored so I just watched TV (Dallas, Falcon Crest 😬) and painted my nails. I didn't even take off the old polish. By the time I went into labor it looked like vinyl siding haha 😆
