Hello Wen ladies!
I was introduced to Wen through a friend about 6 months ago. It took awhile for me to get the whole process down to a science for my hair since it is SO different from shampoo. I noticed positive changes right away for my naturally curly, coarse shoulder length hair. However figuring out the right formula and how to use it properly took awhile. Now in the last few months (especially after using SHP CC!) I've been Wen obsessed! LOL
Now I'm all in with the oils (currently have fig sweet orange, lavender and SHP oils using once a week) and even the remoist, treatment mist...oh my! For the first time in my life I can finally skip wash days and only cleanse 4 times a week. Before Wen I had to wash every day otherwise I would have oily scalp and dry frizzy ends. I'm not sure if it was using the Wen over the last several months that normalized my scalp or if it was the oils or a combination of both but I'm so happy I can do that now! I just spritz the Treatment Mist (SHP formula LOVE), comb it through with a wide tooth comb and my hair looks as good on day 2 as it did on day 1!
I've been lurking on the boards for a little while and thought I'd join the fun and say hello!

Hello! I still haven't tried WEN, but your hair sounds like my daughter's hair & I have thought about getting her some WEN for her birthday.

Hi! I've only been using WEN "full-on" for about 6 months myself (Started using as just conditioner and/or leave-in last December). Just got into the oils a month or so ago, and still don't use them as often as I should on my hair...however, I do use them almost daily on my face and nails.
Lots of good stuff to try. I don't have your hair type, so can't make recs, but have fun wiith it all!

One thing I learned about Wen early on was that I had to think of it in a totally different way. The first time I tried it, I used it like shampoo and didn't like how my hair turned out at all. Now I use the 2 cleanse method where I used half the recommended pumps with the first cleanse and half with the second. I add a couple splashes of water to get the Wen to froth some (so it's not as creamy/heavy) and use my finger pads to massage the Wen into my scalp well. I find massaging the scalp on the first cleanse step to be really important to really cleanse. Then I rinse out and apply the second cleanse, clip my hair up and let it soak into my hair while I finish my shower. Now that I can skip a wash day it has made a HUGE difference in the condition of my hair. Even if I'm using Wen I'm better off not cleansing every day to control the frizz quotient. It took awhile to get to that point though for my oily scalp to normalize. I do think the treatment oils once a week made a big difference in that respect.
If you get some for your daughter just let her know there may be a BIG learning curve with this product to get her hair to the point where she is totally happy with it. At least it was for me!
If she does have the same kind of hair as me I do recommend Fig and the Summer Honey Peach. SHP was AWESOME and even though you can't get it now on QVC it sounds like it may come back next summer. Spring Orange Blossom was also wonderful. Tea Tree and Bamboo Green Tea were also quite good for my hair type. Good luck!

It is fun and addictive, isn't it? Now that I've fully succumbed I'm even thinking about trying out the styling products!

It seems like you also have similar hair to me. I am recently new too (June) and have only tried SHP oil (and only as a leave in with SC). BUT i would recommend the CA CC for your oily scalp - its helped me tremendously with my oil and flakes (although TT is marketed better with flakes, due to my overproduction of oil CA works better). I've had great results with the 613 CC as well as 613 SC (and if your hair can handle the proteins, which is seems like it can because bgt and seasonals work just fine for you) then i'd also recommend that especially for your ends.
aren't RTM's the BEST for curly hair? i love using the SHP mousse first day curly and RTM day 2 to refresh/unfrizz the curls. love love love! i'd recommend trying the SC's (styling creams) as they are much thicker than the RTMists and will definitely give your curls more moisturization. i wouldn't be surprised if you eventually would even be able to shower less often. I only wash 2x/week and whether i wear my hair naturally curly or blowdry/straighten, i get a good 3 days of GREAT hair, day 4 being "okay" hair. have fun!
