Re: New Sephora lip stains.....

@wvumountiefan SUPER THANKS!  My sister will be glad to hear.  She just gets so busy and finds re-applying difficult to do.  I'll let her know!

@wvumountiefan - Thanks so much! I think I'll try one. This gives me a good reason to make a trip out to Sephora one day soon!

Re: New Sephora lip stains.....

I got a sample of the True Red in the Sephora Play box. I never would have tried this color but it really works for me so I purchased one. 😩

Re: New Sephora lip stains.....

I wanted to share that I went online today and it looks like all the colors are back in stock for these liquid lipsticks. I'm wanting to order a couple more, but will wait a while.

Re: New Sephora lip stains.....

Thanks, @wvumountiefan!! I will take a look at these in store and hopefully pick one up. For some reason, I just have a hard time picking out liquid lipstick colors, because they always seem to pull dark and brown on me (at least several of the colors in various brands I've tried), so I feel it's best to try on in person first. I really appreciate the update and details!! Heart

I watched a swatch video on the tube and they have like 30-40 colors. I decided on the #37 and #40. Just opened them and applied them both. Very opaque and pigmented. One swipe was enough. I did not use a lip liner as I wanted to test them without it, and no bleeding. I do always wear a lip liner though.

I just recently bought 2 of the new makeup geek liquid lipsticks and these are very similar. The true test will be wearing them for a long period. These were $14 each which is cheaper than my KVD or Stila. They do dry down to a Matte finish, but not as drying as the KVD.

Anyway, I thought I would share, and I'll let you know about the wear time. Happy New Year my friends!!

@Hi @wufan!

Was it you that started the original thread on Sephora's lip stain ?   Whomever did, I can't thank you enough.  These are about 1/2 the price of the ones I love, which I see you have experience with.  I personally find Stila's absolutely AMAZING and would pay that much again if others don't measure up. The MLBB shade makes this a real SCORE!

SO... I too experimented.. with the Stila's "Stay All Day" Lipstain.  WONDERFUL!!!  Can't tell you how much I love this product.  I've lost a lot of pigment to my lips...and my lip line has faded even though I have nice full lips.  As some of you may already know, this is another wonderful side effect of aging. Smiley Tongue

Anyhoo- It's amazing waking up to gorgeous pigment in your lips!  Yes, I slept in the Stila with no worry of it rubbing off on the pillow (even though I'm a back sleeper) or lips feeling dried out in the VERY LEAST.  I'm talking NOT AT ALL!  It didn't budge!  Hey!  I think one application might last an entire weekend.  lol  I can do away with lip liner.  What's that??   More importantly,  I'll continue to keep a good lip regimen because over time that's certainly subject to change and for me, this is way more than a trend....it's a true game changer.  Right now my lips are soft, supple.. no detection of yucky dry lips.   Stila's version feels like absolutely nothing on the lips.  You don't detect the look of lipstick in the least. (I LOVE THAT!)  I'm anxious to test drive the Sephora brand shades I picked up last night.  I was able to swatch quite a few & love the MLBB nude one.    I'm usually not a big fan of nudes. This one has enough pink for me to pull it off and fit my coloring, appearing to be a natural lip.  I don't do super bright either.  I'm truly a YLBB fan.  That's why I'm over the moon to find something that appears and FEELS like your youthful naked lips.  I'm hoping Sephora's will work as well due to the price and selection.

TIA for the additional info-- WHICH NOW I'LL ACTUALLY READ.. haha.  In my experiment excitement I just ran a quick search and landed HERE hoping to find & thank the person who brought the Sephora lip product to my attention.

If this is inappropriate for this thread,  excuse the heck out of me. I'll keep searching for the right place.  The thread title indicated it was. If not, still great.  The more info the better.

Color me dim.  If I'd quickly read I'd know, you ARE the original author of the great Sephora find.

I'll too report back on longevity of Sephora's.  I'd test-driven Stila's version on a very long video production day.. (16 hours.. no budge)  and had no concern over sleeping in it.   No lip liner.. the application allows you to do without- LOVE IT!

It's a novelty & slight shocker (truly) to wake up looking so good...

@FUTURE-

I know exactly what you mean about pulling brown and/or just way different on the lip than online swatches.  There's no way I could have picked Sephora's by website photos.  I've made some real goof-ups by buying lip color online.  They don't even resemble the lipstick I thought I was buying.

@I will say I lucked out on the Stila shade.  I bought 2 at Dermstore @ 20% off & proceeded to misplace the lighter one.  The darker is the MLBB I'm going nuts over.   So,  by sheer luck (and reviews)  I couldn't have done better.  I went to Ulta before Sephora to swatch the shade I bought & misplaced.. (I think it landed in the trash somehow) & found one I even like better for the purpose I wanted.  The lighter shade was mostly for popping on top of the base MLBB shade for dimension- more of a nighttime look I think.  Ulta was out of stock on most of them,  but was able to pick it up along with two Sephora brand lip stains.  Tonight I'll condition my lips and test Sephora's tomorrow.

Oh.. and when watching You Tube,  Milani got a lot of good reviews on their version.  I'm sure we'll have a decent selection of less pricey options out there.

In the post before last I used the names that appeared- those I thought included everyone associated with this thread.  Sorry if I left anyone out.. and it appears that I did.:smileysad:
