Just received Clinique Take the Day Off makeup remover.  It was perfectly packaged and the bottles sealed, yet on the side in a large sticker on both bottles it said NOT FOR SALE.  What do you think this means?

You can't break it up and resell each one ......they come together and this is for reseller.

I thought the samples always had that on them?

Maybe they cannot get the pakaging they normally use right now.

Did you buy them or receive them as a gift/promo?

It means those items should not be sold. Clinque probably did not "sell" them to who ever you got them from.  Like a sample as someone else said or as promo event.  .

Sample will have that sticker on them. It could also be. FreeB with a purchase.

Sometimes I see these samples for sale on eBay or some other secondary selling site, but a Dept store or other cosmetic retailer should not be selling them.

@Biftu   In many cases it was meant to be a counter sample. It should not have been sold to you. If sealed, no one has used it or opened it and should be fine.

@Biftu   If no shipping is involved or inconvenience to go to store, I'd return it. It may be "on the shelf" longer than other jars.
