Ugh, all the judgmental pearl-clutching. If Botox doesn't interest you, by all means don't do it--but don't judge others, either.

To the OP, I've had Botox via a derm and via a PS. They were both good (and have extensive training with the Botox folks--you really want to make sure of this when choosing a provider) but I did find the derm much more conservative in his application. Neither of them gave me a frozen look--I don't personally think that's desirable--but the PS's approach was a little more aggressive and seemed to address my problem areas more fully (11s and crow's feet). Too much Botox can have odd side effects, like droopy eyes.

Good luck!

Would never even consider BOTOX- Do you know that you are injecting the equivalent of curdled milk into your skin? Would never take he risk.....People have had terrible reactions and have died. No, thanks! In addition, I personally, don't think that it is a flattering look. A frozen forehead looks silly. I'm not that vain.

I'd rather look silly than look angry all the time!{#emotions_dlg.angry} I didn't get it in the forehead. I have no problem raising and lowering my eyebrows. I got it for the frown line between the brows. If now wanting to look angry makes me vain, then I guess you can call me that. I was hesitant about getting it, but when I saw the difference it made in my sister, decided to go for it. I don't even color my hair because I don't think that good for me.

Kind12 you don't have to answer to anyone! I wish people would just live by the old adage, "if you don't have something nice to say, say nothing." LOL. It's a shame people seem to be so unhappy they feel the need to unleash themselves through the freedom of these boards. If it makes you happy, then more power to you Smiley Happy)

I agree. All these nasty comments about low self esteem and how they can spot it on everyone immediately. What a joke. I work in a plastic surgeons office and I can't spot it on most people when it is done in a good way. Sure if you get a bad job but I guarantee you, there are 100's of people you see in a matter of months that you would never know they had it.

Every single drug you put in your body has the potential for being dangerous and they got their start as something completely different than they were meant for. Botox is used for headaches, spasms, dystonia, sweating and other uses.

Only a person with low self esteem would get on a BEAUTY board and criticize another person for using something they don't approve of. Do you really think the users don't know the possible risks. Botox has a pretty good safety record but nothing like the naysayers jumping on the board trying to throw a scare into someone. I have seen literally 1000's of injections and the biggest side effect I have seen is a little bruising and swelling.

There have been no deaths attributed to cosmetic use only medical use where it is used in much higher doses. There have been 28 deaths between 1989-2003 but all were due to medical use. About 16,500 people die a year from NSAID's use among arthritis patients alone.

Not only putting foreign substances into your bodies what ever happened to aging naturally? How low is someones self esteem that they need to inject their face with something to make them look freakish? Yes, freakish. I can spot botox instantly even on someone I've never seen before. You aren't fooling anyone girls.

That is like saying someone that colors their hair or wears makeup looks freakish! I can tell instantly if someone colors their hair or wears makeup. That doesn't mean they are a freak or have low self esteem. I am aging gracefully. However having frown lines between the eyes are not a sign of age. It's a sign of habitual frowning. I'm just tired of people thinking I'm angry if I'm not smiling all the time.
At least I'm not rude.

Pay no attention to all these women who bring up being vain because you do something to make yourself look better and feel better about yourself. It never fails in a thread like this that people just don't get wanting to look as good as you can. I wish you well!{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}
