I mix IT Celebration Foundation with Pur Minerals foundation for a perfect color and texture, Also mix colors of the CC Cream to get a perfect summer color.

I have been mixing for years!

The concensus here is that most of us do some mixing of our foundation products in order to adjust the textures and color.  I don't find this surprising because I've never felt one foundation is a be all/end all to meet ever changing needs of our skin, every day of the year.

I have 2 deluxe samples of the Cover FX color drops that I got from Sephora. They are both darker shades, and I use them in my foundation or CC creams in the warmer months when I am a lil more tan. I like them and one lil drop does it. They are extremely pigmented.

Re: Mixing foundation

[ Edited ]

I've been mixing both fluid type foundation; for tinted moisturizers or a more fluid foundation which matches perfectly.  But primarily I use mineral foundation and find I need to mix my own.  By mixing the right shades of BareMinerals and Halo loose mineral foundation I can achieve a finish that I love.  I use Paula's Choice Booster Oil (dry skin) as my primer.  Again I do it to get the right consistency for the look and light finish which melds with my skin - the color match is secondary since i've found minerals that do match pretty well- yet this is right on and can be adjusted for seasons.   I don't care for too heavy,  shiny or a too matte look which I haven't found in one loose mineral brand.  I've been though too many brands and got tired of the expense when I hit on this mixture.  Now I have a fail proof mineral foundation for my needs.  I use a designated plastic jar with a perfect rounded lid so there's no mess when dipping my brush in and tapping off excess.  I usually make enough to last a few months.  The mixing process can be a bit messy-- though helped using a paper plate underneath the jar.
