I ordered the set of 5 LG lip pencils today that have a matte finish just because LG said they absolutely won't feather or bleed....I will put gloss over them if the finish is too matte for me. I think too glittery is aging at some point.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what matte lipstick is. To me, it means glitter and shimmer free. That doesn't automatically mean it has to be dull, flat, or drying. I have several creamy, moisturizing lipsticks that are shimmer free, but I do have others that are kind of flat and dry because of the formulation, not because they lack shimmer. For those, I apply a little gloss over them.

I don't mean the ones that just don't have shimmer or gloss. I know many prefer those.

I mean totally FLAT. That seems to be the newest idea. I have yet to see this and like one!

I definitely have lost color in my lips. I am very fair, and my lips are so colorless now! So, yes, it does happen.

I feel color on a woman's lips is the single most important make up item. It would be MY desert island product.

I have an earlier set of these. They are definitely not too matte, and there is no shimmer. They give a nice moist look. They don't last that long on me - I have to keep reapplying - but it's worth it to get the look! Smile

I think it looks pretty on the models in some of the beauty magazines but on me I may as well take a black sharpie and draw arrows to all my lines, lol, that's what the matte formulas do for me.

If I could give you my lip color, Hyacinth, I'd do it in a heartbeat. What I wouldn't give for toned down lips! I am very fair also. It's taken me just until recently to try and embrace the situation instead of trying to combat it. It was a battle I never won in any case.

The Lipstick Queen matte glosses are wonderful! Oxymoron is the perfect name for the line.

LOVE Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting lipsticks...much better than the Nars.

Many Youtubers recommend the very inexpensive WET and Wild Megalast mattes...have to try them.

Shiny, glossy lips will probably come around again for sure. For now, though, they are a bit passe. But to each his own!

Favorite Son....I'm also a fan of Matte Neutrale and was sad when it was discontinued. Glad you are finding it on E-Bay!

I had an impulse buy the other night. I bought the ""too-faced"" melted lipsticks (set of 4).

I would consider these a matte lipstick. The colors are pretty but I would rather have a bit of shine. They are suppose to be long-wearing.
