I miss Mally's shows and feel sorry for her. She used to love bringing new products to her shows and always had some interesting beauty tips. It seems whenever hands are changed, the product goes downhill. I think no one cares like the one who created the product.

This is very true. Anyone else is just thinking about the profit margin- being able to make it cheaper yet charging more money for it.

Wasn't philosophy sold quite some time ago? Thought I read where (here in this post) someone asked if any company that has been sold has succeeded and/or thrived and from all appearances, it does seem that Philosophy so far has, regardless of all the complaints I have seen that don''t care for some of the formula changes.
My guess is that BMinerals also has survived. Although they are no longer on QVC nowhere near as frequently as they had been in the past, they still seem to be doing a respectable retail business. My interpretation of QVC and the vendors they seem to focus the most on are probably those that they have negotiated the best deals with (profit wise) and the more visibility they give each of these brands, the more they sell and round and round it goes.
Ironically, as a brand continues to grow and expand through their association with QVC, the more they will then appeal to these bigger buy-out corporations and eventually, the Laura's, the Mally's, the Maureen's and the like are then offered the once in a lifetime (usually) opportunity to sell their "baby" and walk away with a very nice nest egg.
QVC definitely seems to have taken the path of dealing with fewer brands yet encouraging these brand to keep expanding their product base. I have not seen a line up on a Beauty Day in a very long time that is not focused primarily on 3 to 4 (sometimes a few more) vendors with an occasional hour tossed in where they actually vary the lineup and show some new items or bring back some oldies but goodies.
I realize it all comes down to the dollars and this new focus must be money making for them but I sure loved the old days when we would be introduced to lots of new products, often from small brands many of us were either not familiar or new releases from a brand we might know a bit about.
I know Mally was on during the 2015 holidays pretty regularly as well as into January. It is possible that all the negotiating along with manufacturing time frames required to have sufficient stock available, all combined to delay Mally's next TSV. I think Mally has as good a chance as any of the other lines that also sold out to continue to succeed.
I certainly wish Mally all the best though I have never been much of a fan of her products. That's more related to my decrease in needing the latest in cosmetic products at this point in my life. I have my faves and don't find the need to switch it up like I once did.
Sorry for the extended verbiage~

I am thrilled to hear this and cannot wait! I received a few new Mally products and think the quality is still there. I think her line is the best for eyes (shadows, liners, concealer) and delivers the most consistent / high performance results. I am lucky to have the opportunity to try everything on the market and always come back to Mally for eyes. Especially the eyeshadow sticks. The best, hands down.

I tried a newer version of her shadow stick (made in China) and it was absolute ******. Nothing like the original formula and the packaging was cheaper as well. It went right in the trash. Mally is who got me back into wearing makeup years ago and I will always love so many of her original products but will probably never purchase again.

I received an email from QVC saying my auto ship of Mallys pore defender was being discontinued, or not available anymore, and I LOVE that stuff!! I it just sets my makeup perfectly! I hope she is still on, I love some of her things, and I enjoy watching her.
It seems that the Q is getting rid of lots of tried and true lines...George Simenton, (LOVE his skirts, and he "gets" how clothes should look on a woman's body, and I just am so not impressed by Issiac Mizrahi....). No Black Hills Gold shows....if there was any Northern Nights this winter, I didn't see it...just lots of shows and products that have been let go, and what shows are remaining are being run in the ground, really how many times a day does Susan Graver need to be on? Etc.. Just my opinion, but the Q is getting old and predictable ......

Yeah I tried her new version- it was a set of neutrals. I was really excited to try them and they were terrible. Poor color payoff, creased like crazy even with primer and faded after a few hours wear. I do not have oil lids- just normal lids. I actually returned them back to Ulta. The lady at Ulta said that many people were returning them and saying how bad they were which surprised her.

I got an email today (I think from Mally's website) with a heading of the TSV. I got so excited thinking I could order it early only to find out it was a big tease that the TSV from QVC was for April 11! I don't know why QVC keeps these TSVs so hush hush.

@beach-mom wrote:I am wondering if Mally will have much input in the production of her products. I read somewhere that Laura Geller was unhappy with the decisions her new owners were making about some of her well-loved line products, but she couldn't do anything about it because they controlled the development. IDK if Mally is in the same situation. I hope we find out! These new owners are cutting costs and cutting quality to make their profits. They seem to use the former owners, who agree to stay on as spokeswomen in most cases, as just demonstrators of products they had little or no say in developing.
It will be interesting to see the Mally TSV next month. The Laura Geller one looks just like the ones she has always brought to us. We'll see when we see it in person!
I hate to see this happen with good brands. They have great products and customer service, then it is bought out by some corporation and all quality goes to heck because they mass produce them and make them for whatever ingredients are the cheapest and what will make it fastest to churn something out (usually from a factory overseas).
The term 'selling out' is certainly a well worn cliche for a reason.
I guess in Mally's case if you are in bankruptcy and trying to save your company it is the only option. I was surprised to hear that her company was in financial trouble, her products always seemed to sell big time on the Q. I guess it goes to show how hard it is to make it if you are not a big corporation with deep pockets...
My guess is IT cosmetics will be the next to go down this path
(unfortunatel. I love IT's celebration foundation and brow pencil)
