First I sanitize the sink with a wipe.  I then wet the brush and swish it back and forth on a bar of dove soap, and add more water then work the soap into the brush ends with my fingers.

I run water in the sink and lightly press the brush against the sink under the running water.  I do this over and over until no color is coming out, rinse and press, rinse and run my fingers on the bristles until very very well rinsed.

Squeeze with my fingers, shape and air dry with bristles in the air over the edge of the counter.  I have very old brushes still in good shape doing this.

I don't wash mine too often because they always seem to look and perform worse every time I do.  So it seems like I end up getting new ones about every year...no matter how expensive.

I use baby shampoo swirled in a juice glass with warm water. I swirl the brushes 1-2 at a time.  I make sure all the makeup is removed & water eventually runs clear. Using a soft towel, I squeeze out the excess water& reshape the bristles with my fingers. I let them air dry on their sides over the sink. The Lancôme brushes have lasted years.
