I love MAC lipsticks. Candy yum yum,Rebel,and Diva are two of my favorites. I have been ignored at the MAC counter in certain department stores. Never ignored at the stand alone store. Interesting.

My first visit to a MAC counter was at South park Mall,Charlotte,NC. I was looking for a foundation to cover some very light acne scars.The guy looked at me and said very rudely "there was nothing they could do to help me" and suggested I go elsewhere. REALLY!

I dress the way I feel comfortable when I go shopping. I certainly don't dress up or put on jewelry in order to get good service. If they want my business, they'll treat me with courtesy no matter what.

That shade sounds beautiful! I really love MAC lipsticks and have collected them for years. I'm always tempted with the new collections. MAC doesn't get much mention on this board for whatever reason.

Because the Mac reps pretty much treat older woman like garbage or they ignore you. There have been threads on here about this subject.

Older women and younger women, too - I'm 20 and they treat me like I shouldn't even be looking at their stuff when I'm in the stand-alone store, even though I always drop a huge chunk of change whenever I go in {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

I've gotten that treatment at other counters, too, especially since my hair turned white in my early 30s.

However, now when I go to the MAC counter I have MAC product in my hand/hands that I need to refill or replace. I get immediate attention. Also, I dress up and put on my best jewelry.

I am always dressed up and look nice when I go shopping, I don't even look like my age of 55 and they look down their nose at me.

There's no excuse for that. I'm so sorry you're getting that treatment. I'd ask for the manager next time. Tell her/him how much you spend per annum. I sure would. Good luck.

This was from the days when my Grandmother would take me shopping in downtown San Francisco. Just became habit. But---I no longer wear gloves!

Plus, I always wear full on make-up because I'm not much to look at in the face department. Feel I absolutely must make the rest of me dressed to the 9s.

I think it just really grinds my gears because I work in customer service in retail and I would NEVER treat a guest, regardless of age, the way I get treated sometimes. You know what I mean?

I love Mac but I do not get to a counter or a store often so I shop on their website when I need my Mac fix

Mac makes great products but the last time I was at their MU counter at Macy's I was so grossed out by the mess of lipsticks that I couldn't bear touching anything.
