I bought a new mac lipstick this weekend. It's a rainsin-y satin finish color called Verve. Super pretty - it's just a couple of shades darker than my own lips so it isn't too dramatic. It can read either rainsin or deep burgundy color. Even though the finish is "satin" it looks more matte to me. I bought a new liner as well - a color called Hover. Matches niclely. I'm wearing it today and feel pretty. I love a new lipstick!

That shade sounds beautiful! I really love MAC lipsticks and have collected them for years. I'm always tempted with the new collections. MAC doesn't get much mention on this board for whatever reason.

Because the Mac reps pretty much treat older woman like garbage or they ignore you. There have been threads on here about this subject.

Older women and younger women, too - I'm 20 and they treat me like I shouldn't even be looking at their stuff when I'm in the stand-alone store, even though I always drop a huge chunk of change whenever I go in {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

Nice! I may check this shade out. I order online from MAC site's or Nordstrom. I've only been to a MAC store one and it was an event for a collection launch. I avoid them if I can. Said I was going to go to a counter to see how they act.

I love Mac. I love their mascara, their brushes, their powder, their concealers, their foundations, their eye cream, but mostly their color cosmetics! I've been shopping at the Mac counters since 1999 & I only remember feeling unappreciated at a counter 1 time in all those years. I hope you know about Back To Mac so that you save your empties to get free lipstick!

The satin finish is my favorite in the MAC lipsticks.

I'm sorry to hear so many have had bad experiences with the sales associates. I guess I've been fairly lucky. I have had to wait for a while when the MAC counter was overrun with customers, but once a sales associate is available, I've always found them helpful.

I've even had them be very patient while I tried on umpteen shades of lipstick and insisted on wearing my final selection around while I shopped to be sure it didn't change to a weird color and checking it in daylight before purchasing. Hey -- at least it's a lot less likely I'll return it.

I've gotten that treatment at other counters, too, especially since my hair turned white in my early 30s.

However, now when I go to the MAC counter I have MAC product in my hand/hands that I need to refill or replace. I get immediate attention. Also, I dress up and put on my best jewelry.

I am always dressed up and look nice when I go shopping, I don't even look like my age of 55 and they look down their nose at me.
