A lot of people get rude on this board. Not calling anyone rude in this thread, by the way. I just think people need to not take things so personally or look into things too deeply. Just my opinion.

Tea Tree Oil would be better and not as agressive. Listerine wasn't made for a scalp. Tea Tree Oil is a good astrigent, exfoliator, it's has antibiotic properties, it is a good healer for all skin problems, cuts, nicks, abrasions, acne, scabs, etc. It is made for skin, and would be a much better thing to use long-term.

Listerine is a brand name, there's no such thing as generic Listerine.

Then what about generic Tylenol? Tylenol is a brand name. Acetaminophen is the ingredient, but we don't call it generic acetaminophen, we call it generic Tylenol. Right? Am I missing something?

Wrong. I call it acetaminophen, not Tylenol, because if it's a generic, it's not Tylenol. The thing you're missing is the point of a generic. A generic is not a brand and a brand is not the product which bears its name. A tissue is not a Kleenex, it's a tissue that might be made by Kleenex, Puffs, or Scott.

Nit picky, aren't you? {#emotions_dlg.blink} I hope no one with a runny nose ask you for a Kleenex, if you only have Puffs. {#emotions_dlg.w00t}

How about just using some good old fashioned shampoo that actually cleans your scalp? Sorry but I just do NOT get the Wen obsession.

I love tea tree oil, but the reason I didn't use it in the first place is because it is oily and didn't want any oily reside on my hair. Listerine was made as a surgical antiseptic, originally. I never used it long term, just a few days made the blemishes heal fast.

I always wonder, what draws someone to use WEN anyway? I have used regular store shampoo, as has all my family for ages, and our hair is wonderful, soft, and in excellent condition. Why would anyone choose to use a shampoo that needs 12-26 pumps (???), when a little goes a long way with shampoo. I just don't see the attraction to the product.

So glad I'm not the only one! It's just a gimmick to make Chaz Dean rich!

Be very, very, very careful how you word things when it comes to WEN. Trust me on this one. Not trying to be rude to you or anything, just giving you fair warning.

My grandson is also using a generic Listerine product to get rid of flakes. He's had this condition since he was a baby & I would use baby oil & a fine tooth comb before a shampoo. So far it's helping him.

I hope he is not under 12 years of age since there is a warning on the bottle not for use on children under 12 years of age.
