I say that I'm ""Googling"" stuff all the time. Even if I'm using another search provider. Is that why there is a unmarked black sedan parked across the street with two guys watching my house?

Anything acidic works as a final rinse too.

Vinegar, Lemon juice, Listerine.

Pure coconut oil is a good deep conditioner, so is mayonnaise and 1 egg.

If you are afraid of alcohol, steer clear of the doctor's office. I have a pharmacist friend who is germ obsessive. She douses her hands in alcohol whenever she finishes shopping. So far her hands haven't fallen off, she just uses hand lotion. And Listerine, etc., we are lay people, we can call things anything we want. Unless you infringe on copyright laws, you are fine.

THIS is the most intellectual and informative reply that was made.

With that being said, one could also try fighting the buildup with ACV unfiltered (with the mother).

Thanks! I'm all about natural and alternative methods of dealing with issues. I've also used SeaBreeze for dandruff. I have eczema on my hands, wrists and face. The face kind can't be treated with the steroid cream I use on my hands and wrists. I use an antifungal and moisturize all of it with generic Eucerin. I got overly happy with it and got it on my chin, so I got a big pimple! It makes for a great eye cream. My eyes don't have dark circles anymore, so I'll just use it for eye cream too! I get the WalMart kind that is much less expensive.

White vinegar and Dawn dish detergent make for a great shower cleaner. Just spray it on and walk away for a bit. Get one of those sponges on a stick and wipe all the gunk and hard water stains off.

Lemon juice is also great in the summer for when you head outside for the sun to streak your hair.

Listerine used to state on the bottle that it can be used for itchy scalp. Glad to know it works!

For the past few months, every time I washed my hair, I would think, I really need to go on the QVC board and thank that poster who recommended Listerine. My hair has never looked better thanks to her tip.

After I read her original post I did some research and saw that Listerine is an antiseptic that fights fungus and germs. It made perfect sense that it would work on my thick hair. My father, who also has scalp issues, has always rinsed his hair with vinegar, but I don't like the smell. I had been to a dermatologist who recommended some scalp shampoos, but they didn't work.

But the Listerine (actually Kroger brand antiseptic rinse) did work!

I thought my long overdue thank you post would also help others with thick hair prone to scalp issues. I am shocked by all the negative comments I just read here. It's sad really.

But my hair is long, thick, blonde, clean and pretty spectacular! My Dad's hair looks great too. So carry on. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}
