Re: Let's talk foundations ....

I love trying new things, but always go back to BE in Original or Ready. It works best for my skin tone and type, and feels the best on. Whenever I stray away, it just makes me realize how well it does work for me, so I always go back.

I have combo skin, more oily in the warmer months.

Re: Let's talk foundations ....

I am in desperate need for foundation-well makeup period! I have rosacea and I believe combo skin. Not positive on the skin type but thats my guess.

I was using BE until I got the rosacea and then stopped because it then started to irratate my face and did nothing to cover the rednness. I have researched skin care and make up for rosacea but there is so much and of course what works for one person doesnt work for the other If only it did! I read to use yellow cover up for the redness then I have read no dont use yellow use green cover up! My rosacea has not only confused the heck out of me as far as skin care and makeup. But it embarrases me and its all I see when I look in the mirror. Besides my eye bags! I guess Im lucky to have both!

If anyone on here has rosacea please let me know what you use.

I don't think I've ever found a foundation that doesn't look like I'm wearing makeup. That's my goal -- probably my dream.

I'm beginning to think it's my sunscreens, so today I checked out Paula's Choice due to great reviews, but was very VERY disappointed in the ingredients.

I'm getting to the point where I think nothing will give me what so many of you seem to have found. {#emotions_dlg.sad}

I use PC's Resist Super Light SPF 30 (physical). It's full of antioxidants/antiaging ingredients that I don't normally see in sunscreens. I'm curious as to which ingredients disappointed you so much?

Maren, I use the same one Suzy mentioned. I am curious what you didn't like. This sunscreen has definetly become a HG for me. I love that it is all zinc oxide, has a tint, has antioxidants and wears perfect under my foundation.

Re: Let's talk foundations ....

Foundations are a big addiction for me. I would be bored to tears if I wore the same am,foundation everyday. Currently I have Guerlain Radiance Foundation, Cle de Peau Silky Foundation, Serious Skincare CC Cream, Rimmel 25 Hour Foundation, Youngblood LiYquid Mineral Foundation, Amore Pacific Cream Foundation, and YSL Youth Liberator. My favorite is YSL Youth Liberator. It contains a serum and really gives my skin a nice finish. Cle de Peau is also wonderful but way too expensive so I won't repurchase. The YSL is great for dry skin and blends beautifully.

Re: Let's talk foundations ....

Have you thought about trying the new BE foundation? Maybe it will be the illusive HG? I'm looking forward to seeing all the reviews.

I'm using PC Resist foundation and I'm really happy with it. I keep thinking I should try a BB/CC like Physcians formula, JM or the new BE for weekends or days when I don't want to do the separate serum, moisturizer/spf and foundation but each step is so quick. I'm really not sure how much time I would really be saving.

Re: Let's talk foundations ....

I have such a hard time finding a foundation that is the right color. I guess my neck being lighter than my face is what makes it hard. I cannot stand to look at my face in the car mirror and see a big difference. I have tried so many I could not even name them all. I am very oily but older so having the problems you get with uneven skin tone, some wrinkles and sagging and oil. I just bought the It celebration in the new formula with the slight sheen to it hoping to keep my skin from looking dull. It definitely covers more than the first one that came out. I think of myself as a light/medium but the medium in this new one was way too dark. The original was way too light in the light shade. It website is having a 25% off with free shipping over 25$ so I ordered the new foundation in light.

Love MAC Face & Body foundation. It's lightweight, but buildable, and long wearing

i just bought sephora 10hr. liquid foundation, that i read about on this board. today will be the first day, for it. they helped match color for me, which really helps. $20.00 + 15% off, really helps too.

This sounds exactly what I am looking for.

That's actually the one I found MAYBE acceptable -- 13% zinc. Others range from about 3 - 6% zinc. Not nearly enough in my book. And too many with chemicals -- when I see avobenzone I want to pull my hair out. {#emotions_dlg.angry}

Why do you like it, SQ3? How is the finish/feel? You may change my mind. {#emotions_dlg.w00t}

Paula's Choice has quite a few SPF products. Most are labeled as moisturizers, but she has one SPF 50 that is really a dedicated sunscreen; it is a chemical sunscreen -- I think any SPF that high probably is.

The rest are divided. Hydralight (zinc/TD), and Skin Recovery (zinc and TD) will be physical because they are all recommended for sensitive/rosacea skin. The Moisture Boost and Skin Balancing lines are not specifically targeted at sensitive/rosacea skin, so their SPF moisturizers are chemical. It's good to have choices. Some people can't do physical sunscreens.

The Resist line has two SPF moisturizers, but the older one is all TD. The newer Resist Super Light that has 13 percent zinc is fine for me as a moisturizer. My foundation has SPF as well. When I'm exercise walking for an hour, I use a different product altogether.

I like the Resist Super Light because it's all zinc but is slightly tinted (which disappears on me), so I get no white cast whatsoever. Even though my skin is normal/dry, I'm still okay with this product that is geared toward combo/oily. YMMV. It's enough for me. It has a matte finish that is not dry looking. Of course, I've usually applied some other moisturizer and an oil or two earlier in the morning.

I do like physical sunscreens, especially that I can put them all around my eyes and not worry about any sensitivity occurring (never has, but you never know), but I don't have the aversion to chemical ones that many here have.

Anyway, I wouldn't try to persuade anyone. I just wondered when you said that you were disappointed in the ingredients because the Resist Super Light has quite a stellar list.

Good luck with whatever you choose. Smile
