@vandyfan wrote:Try "Lash Extension" by Ready to Wear on HSN. You apply the fibers between two coats of mascara. It works beautifully! I have it on auto-ship.
@Thanks @ Vandyfan
I went on HSN and they're sold out but I found some on eBay for $14.99 so I ordered one and I'm going to give it a try. I'm still going to get the extensions, since I already bought the Groupon, but I wasn't planning on maintaining them (too costly) I just wanted to have them for my son's wedding this summer. The Ready to Wear sounds like a good alternative for every day.

I'm bumping this thread because I really want to know if I'll be able to wash my face as I normally do if I get lash extensions. TIA!

@Texasmouse I apply lash extensions so I thought I would offer some tips. Yes you can still use your Clarisonic and splash water on your face.
What impacts how long the lashes stay on has more to do with the products you use. Oil breaks down the adhesive so if you use heavier skin care products or oily make up you may lose them faster. Since you are only getting them for a wedding I wouldn't worry to much about it, just mainly be careful for the first 24 hrs.
If you have ever had any skin reactions to band-aids, medical adhesive or acrylic nails (things like that) I would recommend getting a patch test done before you get a full set. A patch test is where you go in and have 2-3 lashes applied to the outer corners of each eye (they are short enough so you don't look funny) and then after 48 hrs if there isn't a negative reaction you know how you react to the adhesive.
I won't ramble on about ingredients but if someone tends to have allergies to these items it's best that they don't get extensions. Just a heads up.

Thanks for the tips! I'm allergic to latex. Would that be a problem?

i've been wearing lash extensions for over 3 years now and love them. i go every 3 to 4 weeks for a fill. i do wear eyeshadow and some liner on the bottom, but do not wear liner on the top. it isnt needed, but i know people that do. that would be too heavy for me because the lash line is darker.
never had any infections or problems. i will say that having them saves so much time in getting ready everyday.

@Texasmouse A latex allergy could be a problem. I don't use adhesive that contains latex but there are many cheaper brands that do so I would be sure to ask the person what brand of adhesive they use so you can check for yourself to make sure it is latex free.
I've also heard from other estheticians that think if someone has some allergies that it makes them more likely to have an allergic reaction. Personally I've only noticed this with people that have extreme allergies.
If you find out what brand they use I can tell you if I have heard anything about them.
