i'm looking for some advice from the lovely ladies on  this Board.  Without going into detail, I've had a serious illness for the past 3 years.  I'm finally on the road to recovery for the past month now, however, the illness took a lot out of me.......hair is now very fine and fragile, skin is dry, dry, dry and sallow looking....not to mention I've lost 44 lbs (and believe me I was not a large woman who could afford to lose weight).  I've tried changing my routine...trying different products.  I believe that if you look good, you feel good too and I'm truly grateful for my recovery.    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

@molly and me First of all let me wish you a speedy recovery.

From someone who has been through a similar ordeal, for me I feel using organic chemical free products is the best way to go.  Your hair and skin will heal and come back healthier.    If you can try to eat an organic diet that will also help along with drinking plenty of water.   I used Wen hair products, Beekman soaps and Josie Maran argan oil on my hair and skin before, during and after my illness and it really helped me.   I wish the same for you.

@molly and me - I agree with @LindaSal re trying clean beauty products - Tweak'd, Josie Maran, Beekman - all good places to start.  Tweak'd for hair and the best selection is on HSN, which by the way, he has a Today's Special so might want to check out the offerings for today for other products at good prices.  Josie Maran has both skin care and body care.  I like her argan oil, however, you can find organic argan oil other places for less money.  I purchase mine at Trader Joe's.  Beekman has both skin care and body care products.

Start simple - cleanser and moisturizer and, if you want, add other serum(s) one at a time once your skin has started to adjust and recover.  I'm sure others will have ideas for you too.   Also, don't be shy to ask any questions you may have.

@LindaSal  I hope you are all healed up and continue to be healthy...Smiley Happy

@molly and me

 I'm so glad to hear that you're on your way to recovery!

  No real advice just wanted to say that  it sounds like you've been through a lot with your many years of illness so just give yourself a little extra grace because you can't expect to bounce back quickly.

If you can, take extra care to get good sleep, good nutrition,extra water, gentle exercise (at first...walking), bubble baths with extra moisturizing creams and oils afterward....just the basics, your body will respond, it wants to be healthy and before you know it you'll be feeling and looking better.

I wish you continued good health!Smiley Happy

*Cerave moisturizing cream and Aveeno baby eczema therapy nighttime balm are both very moisturizing for my extra dry skin....

@LindaSal   Thank you so much.  I ordered Wen and have just started to transition to organic products.  I have not yet tried Josie's argon oil, but will do so.  My daughter  (bless her) monitors just about everything I eat!!  I guess I'm just impatient!!  I hope you're doing well now.  Amazing, isn't it, how much we appreciate good health after a long illness.  I wish you well, good health, and happiness in the new year.

Beekman, Nakery, Mychelle are also Clean Beauty Brands. If you look on the Ulta snd Sephora websites they have products under a special section that are designated as Clean.
