For the first time, it has been claimed, the older age group have outflanked the younger generation in terms of spending money on their looks.
The rise is thought to be down to marketing of anti-ageing products, and a realisation from brands and media that older women still care about their appearance.
According to researchers, the change has been inspired in part by cosmetics companies such as L'Oreal and NARS using older beauty ambassadors like 69-year-old Helen Mirren and Tilda Swinton, 53.
I would like to add that many older women (especially many from the 60's era want to look as young as they can with or without surgery. I think it would be a big mistake to leave us out. We aren't spring chickens but.....boy can we make a noise if we have to!

Tom Ford is a lifestyle brand.
The lipstick on topic is also a name of a perfume.
His base wants those names.
One can throw a stick & hit a zillion red lipsticks.
People who are aware of his name/brand will buy no matter
what the name is...a couple letters in a word won’t deter them.
It’s edgy...but so is he.
I don’t have a problem with the name...and I didn’t know about it.
If one searches long enough to find some which offends,
they’ll find it. I’ll save my offended energies for something
more worthwhile...and something more impactful than a lipstick.

I am loath to talk about myself here and do so only when I think it is relevant.
I graduated with honors from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in English Literature. I taught English skills (grammar, punctuation, and VOCABULARY) to adult students prepping for an arduous state exam to become court reporters. They tell me that I was quite successful.

I think some posters may be just trying to upset older people and make them/us feel irrelevant. Why anyone would want to do that besides basic trolling is beyond me.
It's also complete bunk. Advertisers don't care how old or young you are, as long as you buy product. I don't think Tom Ford even runs tv ads for his lipsticks.
Tom Ford's marketing team (not advertising) has positioned the brand as being very sex oriented for a long time. His print perfume ads have gotten lots of coverage for being controversial over the years.
To me it's all stupid. Perfume is perfume. Lipstick is lipstick. The factories where the products are made look the same as the ones for Maybelline. No one is oiled up and sliding around on the floor in there, or in the offices. The marketing is just a mirage to distract you so they can slip in higher prices.
