Does PTR test on animals?
On beautypedia PTR is listed as one that test on animals.

So I think I've only every purchased 3-4 things from ebay over the years and only one of which was MU or beauty related (it was a WEN product). I agree that it can be so difficult to purchase MU products this way. But then the flip side is that if it's a winner--it's GREAT! I think the product is from Korea and it is available on Amazon, but it's pricey. I liked the idea of this one from Kat's review of it the other day, but I think I would be interested in it only for the pore-hiding quality. I think this is a bit of a different animal than the SPF I'm looking for in this thread.
I had completely blanked out about the product Kat posted which specifically addresses covering pores. That looks like a good possibility for what you are looking for. As others started mentioning different MM, I did recall that some of these had actually accentuated my pores which prompted me to mention that to you. Does that make sense?
I mentioned ebay when I read your comment about "watching" there. I will say that I have had excellent luck buying both some skincare and cosmetics on the bay but I am also very diligent about only buying from sellers with top ratings who have done a lot of business. So far, that has fared well for me and I've been able to pick up some great buys.
I was checking out some PaloVia and Tria hair removal units the other day, just out of curiosity and many selling them had very few sales on ebay. Although I wasn't looking to actually purchase, if I ever were to consider buying anything that expensive, it would never be from sellers who had limited transactions. To be honest, I'd never buy that type of product on the bay as the risk is just too great. I was amazed by one seller who even had a -1 rating - she actually had one sale, received a negative rating on that transaction yet somehow thinks someone is going to jump on paying her hundreds for an expensive technology gadget.
If you pick up that product Kat posted, please do post back about how you like it.

I recently bought this one because of a recommendation on this board. I wanted it for all of the reasons glmama gave, and also to brush on my scalp where the part in my hair is, and on my ears (short hair). So far I'm really happy with it, particularly the way the built in brush applicator works. And I noticed that after the original purchase it's much cheaper because you're ordering refills, without the brush applicator.

ColoreScience - I keep one in my purse at all times. Expensive, but totally worth it - the refills are much cheaper once you've bought the brush. Perfect for touch ups of arms, hands, ears, back of neck and of course, face.
