I was in Ulta last night to have my hair cut, so I thought I'd browse the cosmetics aisles to see what was new. Let me tell you: not much! I ended up with two butter London lipglosses, one purminerals chubby stick set and a two-piece BE lipstick and gloss set - all old products. Philosophy has been split into two areas: the 3-in-1s are over with the bath gels and the rest is in cosmetics. But some shelves weren't full in the entire store, and I wondered if I just hit it on a bad day, before restocking. The Laura Geller Valentine's Day duo of the blush and stick was at the front register to sell. If you've been in an Ulta lately, has there been new merchandise out?

They're all different. I have one near my office and one near my apartment and they're not the same. One launched IT cosmetics as part of the test market and the other store didn't. (A third store in the area launched Mally in the test market, but not IT.) One has nail polish in the back and the other in the middle. One has a great selection of new nail polish colors and seasonal releases up front and the other tends to hide them in the back when they do get them in.

I just had a brand new Ulta open up near me. I am looking forward to going there. The advertisement I keep getting says they have some good sales on.

I was in the one closest to me a couple weeks ago and the only ""new"" thing I noticed out was the OPI spring colors. I didn't spend a great deal of time browsing though; just needed to pick up some hair product.

The stores are all different sizes so they do stock their shelves differently. I noticed some new nail polish collections by Essie last week but I was looking for a nail polish & did not look at anything else.

Most Ulta stores are franchises and that is why each is so different! The one I go to used to be under stocked and very messy- and the clerks were spending all their time talking to each other. I complained several times to corporate and finally it seems like they have cleaned up their act!
