It seemed to work -- probably just pushed the minerals INTO the pores, but looked good. :-)I used BE for years ( I'm sure I have a lifetime supply, no joke) and swore I'd never use liquid foundation again. Now I use Urban Decay Naked skin foundation and love it. I use their whole makeup line now.

BE has never dried out my skin, as long as you use a good moisturizer. Also they always say Primer keeps your moisturizer in place and primes your skin so your foundation sits on top instead of soaking into your skin. Primer may really help, but everyone's skin reacts differently to products.
I tried it about a year ago -- once -- and it was too thick and drying. Tried again the other day and applied by putting a blob on the back of my hand (saw some cosmetics person do this on the Q, I think), mushed it around with my skunk brush then applied. I was standing by with Josie's Argan oil to add a drop if needed, but didn't need it. I really liked the finished result. I'm old so have lots of wrinkles, not really dry but the wrinkles make me look like I am, and I was very pleased.

I chose it because it still has a zinc/titanium base just like most mineral makeup. My skin is happy and I still get sheer coverage with a dewy look - and that dewy look is what I was missing with minerals.
My sister did the same thing. She was using BE loose for years and I personally never cared for it on her.
She tried someone's Tarte and fell in love and ended up ordering it with the brush from QVC. She loves it and it looks so much better on her.

In the interest of full disclosure, I must admit that I don't just throw Tarte on my face all by itself. I add a few dots of Tarte to my skin only after my Retinol cream and my Vitamin C serum, which acts as a moisturizer/primer. Then a little Tarte goes a long way to give me the sheer coverage I like. I swear my little Tarte tube is going to last me well into the Spring! I do hope they are still making it when I need some more... LOL...

I used BE for several years and decided that it just wasn't working for me. I switched to PUR Minerals PRESSED mineral foundation and found that I liked it much better. I used to for awhile, but then decided that it was looking kind of dry. So, I switched to a hydrating primer and my foundation looked a lot nicer and felt much better.
I also started using a cream blush which made even more improvement in the look and feel. I got a great tip from a member of this board to put my cream blush on BEFORE I put on the foundation and everything looks even more fresh.
I'm 56 years old and kept feeling like I needed a liquid foundation. My only problem with liquids in the past has been keeping my neck and face looking similar in color, getting an even application (even with a brush) and the messiness of it.
So for now, I'm staying with the PUR Minerals and the new primer and cream blush.

That's how I apply it too, but with the big airbrush that originally came with the Tarte foundation. It definitely applies better using a brush than just fingers. I do still like it and will use it again, but last time I used it, my skin was dry and flaky and that was the only thing I did different, so I assumed it was the cause.

I started with BE way back, but switched to Physician's Formula Loose Mineral foundation several years ago. It's cheaper, it's not shiny like BE, my skin likes it, people don't think I wear makeup, and I'll keep buying it as long as they make it. Love.

Started using BE in 2006 with the original formula. I starting using the Matte version as soon as it came out ever since. Lately I have noticed that no matter how much I moisturize my skin I was looking older with the BE. I have to say that BE has made a tremendous difference in my skin after all these years. I recently went back to using a foundation from Clinique called Superbalanced. I didn't think I could go back to a liquid but it is extremely light weight and I really like it.
