I've been a user of Bare Minerals foundation for over 5 years, and now it seems to be emphasizing my pores more than ever. I'm wondering if I should consider a liquid foundation. Does anyone have any suggestions for QVC brands, drugstore brands? I don't want to spend a bundle, but I'm willing to do so if it does the job on mature skin. I just don't want to look like I'm wearing a mask. Any suggestions?

I used BE for years ( I'm sure I have a lifetime supply, no joke) and swore I'd never use liquid foundation again. Now I use Urban Decay Naked skin foundation and love it. I use their whole makeup line now.

I still wear BE orginal loose minerals. Do you wear that or the matte. You didn't mention your skin type. Do you wear a primer that lessen pores before you apply it! Sometimes I wear a tinted moisture & top it off with a very light application of BE.
I have normal skin & altho I don't wear foundation often but when I do for my skin type I love Nars Sheer glow which is a light to med. coverage, it doesn't have alot of glow as the name implies but rather a nice soft glow which works well for normal, normal/dry or dry skin types. Its around 42.00 at Sephora.
I did try Urban Decay & wanted to love it but for me it looked flat & felt dry & it also oxidized on me. But love their shadows!
I'm sure you will get more suggestions if you mention your skin type. Good Luck
Oh, a drugstore that is similar to Nars is Neutrogena Healthy Skin liquid foundation, around 12? Neither of them emphasis lines & are not mask like at all but a nice silky feel & look. Sephora sells Nars.

I used BE when it was only sold on QVC or via mail in California, now that I am turning 50 I just can't use it..
I have tried and enjoy Josie Maran's powder foundation (they sell it on QVC) and it is the powder one..I first went to Sephora and have to admit I really like it, I don't have much to hide just some redness and the occasional breakout..
I suggest a Sephora or Ulta to try several of them out. I have a friend who uses Physicians Formula and loves it..

I still use BE's original foundation but I also will use Tarte's Amazonian Clay foundation (in the tube) and the new Tarte Foundcealer. Using the Tarte, I still feel like I'm getting something good on my face.

I agree, try a primer if you're not wearing one now. It might be your aging skin, not the foundation you're wearing, and maybe a primer would help? Or even a good finishing powder? I assume you're using MV? If not, I really does make a difference to top off your foundation with a finishing powder.
I've been wearing BE for a lot of years now, I'm not even sure how many at this point. I keep trying new foundations, because I love trying new things, and I keep hoping to find something to actually live up to it's claim, but I ALWAYS go back to BE. After trying other foundations, I realize how well BE actually works for me. I'll keep trying new ones I'm sure, but so far BE is the one that works best for me!

What type of skin do you have? For me, I first looked for a new foundation instead of BE because my skin was starting to dry up, I first ended up going with a mineral foundation that worked better for some time. From there, I went to Laura Geller's Real Deal Foundation Stick- it went on anywhere from sheer to heavy, and worked well for me. Since then I alternated with Smashbox Halo, Lumiere Mineral Foundation (still use at times), and now use Tarte's BB Primer (is it a CC cream?) and Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation. The BB Primer's not as heavy as the Amazonian Clay and I can top it with a bit of Lumiere powder if my face needs more, I usually use it on my own with a silk powder over the top. If I'm going out at night, I'll wear Tarte's Amazonian Clay Foundation. I know Tarte's having another foundation in their Feb TSV, but haven't tried it so I won't recommend it.
Another option is to go with a BB (or CC or DD, whatever) cream, or a tinted moisturizer, like Josie Maran. I haven't tried hers, but i know a lot like it. Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer is popular too.
btw, my skin's on the dry side with some melasma. I usually put Olay Regenerist on followed by eye cream (sometimes Hydroshield instead) and if I need extra moisture, an Aveeno face cream with SPF. If I'm mainly going with a mineral or powder, then I do all of them for sure (more likely to go with powder in summer if I can). Hope this helps some. I do recommend trying more moisture or a primer if you want to stay with BE. I too was an early BE user, went with the first TSV (foundation and seaweed cleanser!) then went into the store (in CA) and all the makeup was on a table smaller than a card table! I loved all the old body products!

I have tried liquid, pancake style foundation and always go back to BE loose foundation.
I break out so badly with any of the liquid (very expensive to cheap) or pancake type foundation. I have given up trying.
Just apply very little BE. the less I apply in the loose powder foundation the better it looks on me.

BE can be very drying for some of us. It doesn't matter what moisturizer, or primer I use, it dries my skin out even more. Some of us just need moisture in our make-up, or we look parched, and every line is magnified.

After using mineral makeup for years, I just switched to Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage, A216501, on a whim - and I love it! I chose it because it still has a zinc/titanium base just like most mineral makeup. My skin is happy and I still get sheer coverage with a dewy look - and that dewy look is what I was missing with minerals.
