The economy is forcing me to rethink my purchases. A few years ago, I would have shuttered at purchasing drugstore beauty. Today, I purchase all my beauty items from the drugstore - even my skincare which I always bought topline. I honestly haven't found a difference, (my skin is getting older despite the products!) even though it took some experimenting to find the right products. The same is true with my clothes. In the past, I would have been horrified at stepping into a consignment shop or Good Will. Now I purchase only from these sources. - takes more time but you would be amazed at what you find. True, I am no longer in the professional world and now dress much more casual. Some people may be fortunate enough not to have been impacted by the economy and high prices, but I am now on fixed income and my life style has changed drastically. It has not been an easy adjustment but one must do what one must. One area that I have not compromised is my food - in fact, I now spend more and concentrate on clean, organic, healthy produce and grass-fed meats. I feel that it is more important to care for my health than it is to wear high-end clothes and expensive moisturizers.

Yes and I gladly pay it. You'd probably need smelling salts if you knew what I paid for my car or last pair of shoes.

Beauty blogger and YTer who loves it all! Cheers, Lulu Bea aka Lulu On Beauty - Let's be FACEBOOK beauty friends!

Yeah, right! I'll bet you live in a trailer park...but, that would be an insult to trailer park residents!

I too am rethinking pricey items, particularly many beauty items, and when I do continue to buy them, I'm steering away from here. The cost of some items themselves is bad enough, but the way they continue to jack up shipping is highway robbery. I mean really, over five bucks to ship a small concealer...? Unless I can't find it elsewhere, I'm pretty much done shopping here.

I only purchase a beauty item from QVC if it is not available somewhere else.....so far, haven't found a single thing that is not sold elsewhere or with free shipping

Used to a philosophy girl but no longer. I have either given up or am in the process of finishing up stuff and I'm done. I've replaced almost everything so far with drugstore products and I'm happier!
