@hopi .... I'm sorry that happened to you.  I'm sensitive to so, so many products... I know how you feel.  Winter is south Florida is better than summer as far as humidity goes, but I'd need to be in San Diego or Arizona for easier-to-manage hair!

And the dust storms in AZ give my hair so much more body.......(!)

@Desertdi LOL!

Nine or ten years ago I was in Phoenix for a meeting.  Got up one morning, washed, dried, and flat-ironed my hair.  Spent all day in the meeting and all night on an airplane home.  I didn't even comb my hair all day, but it still looked perfect when In got off the airplane around 24 hours after I'd done it.  It had to have been my best hair day ever!  Then I walked out into the South Florida humidity......

@ItsME, We each experience and share so many troublesome issues with beauty products, it's always a feel good moment when someone stumbles upon a regimen that rendered great results.Woman Happy

@Trix  It really does feel amazing!  I'm just blown away that I can get it from my morning walks.... when the humidity is worst here .... and my hair is frizz-free and not all kinky.  Thx.

@ALRATIBA  Switching after 10 years must have been difficult... I know I would have felt badly about guy number 1, but so happy to have a better cut.  Congratulations!

@ItsME.....  No,not difficult at all.  The last year or so I was getting increasingly unhappy with what he was doing.  He didn't pay attention to what I wanted him to do.  So ... I started looking for someone else.

It took some time - I asked so many women who did their hair. Then, around early July ... a new salon opened a couple of blocks away ... offering a discount for new clients.  I called, tried him ... love what he did with my hair.

Re: I'm Shockingly Happy With My Hair!

I've used Wen for years and recently decided I needed to try something else for awhile.  I was shocked how many shamposs I needed to try before finding one I like.  Living Proof Restore (others in that line were drying) I hated  the first two uses, but was told it may take a couple weeks.  Well,  it took my hair about three shampoos to adapt and it's better than it's looked or felt in a long time.  I recently ordered Beekman shampoo just because I like their bar  soap & body butter.  Anyway, I am truly amazed how hard it is to find hair products.  I hadn't used anything but Wen for so long I didn't realize it would be a challenge.  Actually it seems crazy because when I was younger I was able to use whatever and it didn't seem to matter.  Not the case with aging!!  I do like hearing peopl's expreriences with hair care products so thanks for this thread.

@ALRATIBA.... I get it.  It's so hard to find a good hairdesser, and it's awful when they stop listening to you!  I have a small face, and despite the fact that I tell every hairdresser "not short!," I've had a few decide to give me a pixie cut, assuming that I'll thank them after.  My current gal really listens and gives a good cut.

I'm glad you've found someone good and are loving your hair!

Re: I'm Shockingly Happy With My Hair!

@equss ... Thanks for your post.  I've tried SO many products.  I've used some Living Proof, including their Thick, No-Frizz, and PHD lines.  I have the PHD now, and don't care for it.  The others were okay ... even better than a lot of others, but not great.  If the combination I've got now continues to work, I'm done experimenting!
