That can happen, but usually only if you are too aggressive or leave the product on too long. It's also important to know that cuticle remover is meant to remove the true cuticle, the part that sticks to the nail, and not the live tissue at the bottom of the nail bed, the eponychium. Most people aren't aware of the difference and try to do away with live tissue, not just the dead tissue. It's the eponychium that lifted on your nail, which means you may have been pushing back too hard or left the cuticle remover on longer than the directions stated.
