@moon_gazer, you aren't alone. I stopped using Wen because of the same issue that you have. Well I had another reason for stopping also. It clogged my drains terribly. It was so bad that my sewers backed up. Sheesh what a mess! Haven't used Wen for many years and I get tons of compliments on my hair. In fact, I was in a restaurant on Friday and a group of women asked to take my picture because they wanted the same style. Lol! My husband just rolled his eyes. He told them you can't believe how many times she is stopped about her hair. Well anyway don't want to brag. I use sulfate free shampoos so I don't think Wen is the only alternative.

I really beliveve that Chaz's time has come and gone. He made his millions. ... but this scalp clogging guck he is pushing is on over load. He does not need to depend on it anymore... he has his cheesy reality TV appearances and his over rated salon to fall back on for income now..... Bye Bye Chaz.....

it doesn't work for my long fine hair, either- & I've tried a few formulas. It does clog my hair follicles, & I notice more hair in my brush after using it. Btw, other brands also cause this same reaction.

I noticed that he also sells a hideously expensive hairspray. Talk about greed....no spray is worth that amount. Well, if it gave me Farah-hair, then maybe it would be.

Have you been to his salon? If not, how do you know it is over-rated?

I totally understand not liking a product. I don't think it gives credence to an opinion if you feel the need to trash the vendor or people who do like it.

I have thick, curly, shiny hair too. I constantly get compliments when I am out. I've used WEN FOR about 10 years. No clogged hair follicles. No clogged drains.

So there you go.

Different results for different people.

What a concept.

You are not alone. It did nothing for my hair other than make it weighed down and dry appearing. I was told there was a learning curve to it's use. I'm In my 60's, relearning how to wash my hair is not on my priority list.

One of the purposes of this beauty board is to give opinions on what works and doesn't work for us. I don't consider that pity whining about products.

I have started threads about products that work for me and products that don't work for me and I appreciate it when others do the same. I don't always read every thread about every product review but I appreciate that they are there for others.

I don't understand the undying loyalty to a certain product or line that causes people to become so upset if something negative is written about it.

I agree with you wholeheartedly @Lipstickdiva that purpose of BB is being about giving opinions on what works and what does not work for us.

So in my post I gave my opinion about WEN product - I simply repeated what the OP said - this product has so many 5-star reviews! Maybe there is a reason for it? Obviously this shows - the product does work for so many!

I have no way of knowing what threads you've read or did not, you are quite frequent on this board, and there is no way, anyone could possibly miss a number of negatively charged towards WEN threads. They appear again and again! There are too many, in my opinion - Ad nauseam!

People, who otherwise don't have any opinion on WEN one way or the other, must believe it must be a horrific product! All this negative stuff!

Yet, why are there so many POSITIVE reviews? It somehow works well for users, no?

Add to this a huge, loyal following, look at the size and activity on largest on Q Board - WEN Forum, millions of bottles of product sold.......,this all suggests, that a lot of people actually do like WEN! In spite of all the negativity spewed undermining this line.

I do not see any other product line being traduced and bashed on this board, as much as it is done to WEN. Do you?

As the OP and the others here expressed not liking this product, I simply express - I do! Many others do like it as well - just check the reviews.

So I am simply giving my honest opinion where WEN is a subject of a discussion.

I use it, I like it, hair looks great! Good thing there are so many choices out there in the marketplace. Everyone gets to pick their favorite.

It does not work for me as a cleanser, and I can't really use it for shaving either. The menthol does not feel good on my legs and my razor gets gunked up and dull faster when I use it to shave.

I do use a little just on the ends of my hair as a conditioner, and I rinse it out really well. I always use a shampoo first though. I think that as a conditioner, it is still pretty heavy which is why I don't apply to the roots.
