About every two months.  I wear it layered, between chin and shoulder length, and that interval works for me (with a good cut!).

I've gone to the same gal for close to 5 years.  She's great, but if I don't leave my hair curly when I see her, she gives me a cut for straight hair, which doesn't work for me, because, although I blow it out with each wash, my hair gets curlier throughout the day, and curlier still on day two.  A curly cut works with a blow-out, but a straight cut doesn't work with curls!

@Mothertrucker .... I groom my 2 poodles myself.  I have probably saved $11,000-$12.000 over the last 15 years.  More, actually, because they get more frequent trims than if I was paying someone else.    It's significant!

I cut my own. Doesn't look great but is good enough for me.

I get a trim/cut and color every 5-6 weeks.  I tried doing the color myself and the look wasn't good.

I have been getting a trim every other month....color every 4 weeks.....

I think that I am going to space it out a little bit more this year...

My hair is on the longer side so I get a hair cut and double process color every three to four months.  In between I do my own roots every 3-4 weeks.

I have short, curly, silver hair that grows quickly.  If I don't get it cut every four weeks it looks pretty ratty.
