I use it also on medium settings. It's milder to your hair then a flat iron or a curling iron. I also use the John Frieda hot air brush. It's just as good as the protector. Yes I agree blow drying your hair is much more damaging.

That is my HG hair tool. It really does an amazing job!

Re: How can Callista Perfector not damage hair??

There are a lot of Perfector like tools out there that don't cost as much as the Perfector. I would look into one before spending the money on this one.

I have thin, fine, poker straight hair and the Perfector did nothing for my hair at all to curl it or give it bend. It worked a little better on my second day hair that already had some bend/curl to it and product build up.

I did some checking before buying.... I got mine from AMAZON.com.... a LOT less $.... and it is the Prefector...

I have very thin.... fine hair.... you don't have to use the HIGH heat to get results.... and no damage for me.....

I think so you should use hair protection serum before using the barrel, as it will protect your hair and there will be less chances of damage also. So if you want then you can buy the product from natural braid store, as there are many hair products available under one roof.

I would use a protective styling spray before using but the real problem for me would be getting my hair caught in the barrel. I've seen some of those pictures where people had their hair caught. Yikes.

I love this product. I use it every once in a while and it does the job. It does not get hot enough to cause damage. Unlike many others out there, this one does not tangle my hair. The price is worth it IMO.

Re: How can Callista Perfector not damage hair??

I have very fine long silver hair. I use the Perfector on its lowest setting and never wind my hair up horizontally, which is just asking for trouble. I wind it vertically around the brush and pull it out slowly, also vertically, as is shown in the demo. I get a nice wave from it.

And I don't give a hoot what "Chaz" would say either. He is being sued for women's hair falling out.
