Re: How are your nails holding up

I have natural nails, so it isn't bothering me that much. I just did my own manicure yesterday and it's fine.  I don't need a pedicure yet, but that is next...

I do go to get manicures and pedicures every three weeks and I definitely miss it.  I'm going to make an appointment as soon as we are allowed to.

Re: How are your nails holding up

I'm giving my nails a nice break! In fact, they are looking great! I haven't done my toenails all winter and they are in great shape for the upcoming Summer. Heart

Re: How are your nails holding up

I can't wear anything but regular polish on my finger nails becasue I am allergic to the gel and powder. So I just do my own. But, I do get my toes done and they are way past due. Before long I will be able to climb a tree real fast!!!

Dont even get me going on the gray roots!!!

Re: How are your nails holding up

I was always somewhat envious of those women who had manis/pedis on a regular schedule. My work meant I needed to keep my nails short & although I treated myself to an occasional pedi before a summer vacation, I enjoyed doing them myself...sometimes in painting designs, floral prints on toes and/or varying colors.

No offense to those who DO get pampered every few weeks, but in these times, I'm happy I can do my own nails and not have the grief described here.

My toe nails are bugging me.  I don't get pedi's during the winter months and I was about to get a pedi so I can't start wearing sandals again and everything shut down.  So my feet are not looking very pretty!

@San Antonio Gal   Is it warm enough for sandals where you live? 50 and rain in NC today. Freeze warnings this mornings. Socks and clogs here.

Can someone explain to me the differences between gels, powders, shellac, dips on nails? All foreign to me.

@Shanus  - definitely not warm yet.  High in the 50's today.  So I've got more time before it's officially sandal weather, but I was going to get them done since Spring is approaching and my toenails could really use it.

That's great that you're able to do your own nails.  Comes in handy in times like this!

Fine and dandy.

I've always done my own manicures and pedicures and so that continues.

Mine are doing quite well, sans any color. I have strong , natural nails, I trim them, I do like them long, and I put on a clear strengthener and top coat, and change it once a week or so.

Re: How are your nails holding up

I've always done my own nails, so I don't have that to worry about. I've filed mine as short as they've been in a very long time because it's easier to make sure they're clean when they're short. I've been covering them in Josie Maran body butter to try to counteract the constant hand-washing. Two are peeling, but the rest are in really good shape.
