I also have the palette that came out for holiday. There is a soft beige powder that has a soft (very soft) glow, a med bronzer shade on my fair skin which has a little more "glow" but still not really shimmer and a highlight that is exclusive which has a little more shimmer/glow. They are all different and need to be tested, I think. There is a more luminous shade with a similar name that looks to be very shimmery. Also a whitefish shade which has more of that iridescent quality to it. Oh and the pink shade, mood, almost appears to be a matte blush when I swatched it. I actually passed on that and bought the new corresponding blush shade, which is pretty but not glowy at all. Hope this all helps a little bit! blockquote>On 2/13/2014 MarenSeattle said:RE: Ambient Powder ~~ Does "subtle shimmer" mean frosty-ish? There are such raves about this -- is it really that different? The hoopla reminds me of when Touche Eclat was introduced. That really WAS unique -- and I still think in a class by itself.
It helps a lot -- thanks! I was actually thinking about Mood because I'm very fair with blue undertones and anything with yellow just looks jarring on my skin (did you hear that, Bobbi Brown?). To mention Touche Eclat agian, that is more of a glow, which is what I was hoping to find in this powder, and it sounds like I can! I'll just have to hie on down to Sephora or Nordstrom and check it out in person. Thanks again!

There are six shades and they go from almost no glow to very frosty, like a highlighter on steroids. I find they are very much love them or leave them. My theory is they make a difference on mature skin but it is very hard to see a different on younger, smoother skin. The Diffused is almost matte but it looks buttery yellow in the pan. On my skin tone, it does not show up and only acts as a finishing powder, kind of smoothing everything out and making my pores disappear. For the money, though, I prefer Bye Bye Pores by IT. On the other hand, the DIM which is a very pale beige pink taupe, adds a very subtle glow and also blurs pores. I have oily skin and many of my foundations are matte and I don't like matte. I brush Dim over my face and the matte is gone leaving a satin finish.

Thanks, Lulu! SO happy to hear it helps mature skin. As I said, I guess I'd just better belly up to the bar and try these in person. They all seem to get so many raves!

I tried the foundation . I bought the fair and it goes on great. To bad it turned yellow on my skin, gave it to my sister and she loves it.
