I apply a neutral powder blush  first and then dot on cream and blend with fingers, carefully, works great.  I like BB pale pink.

@author  Interesting!  I am usually behind the times with techniques but, like trying new & possibly better methods. I learn a lot here!  Going to do the powder first today.

@pupwhipped  - Have you thought of just using powder blush instead of cream?  You won't have this issue with powder blush.

I don't get the point of using a powder blush over a cream blush 🤷🏼‍♀️

@San Antonio Gal, well, it seems I've turned into an absolute blush nut as of late. I've got powder and creams out the you know what. 😲 I use them both alone and together. I was just really surprised yesterday when I swatched seemingly different colors from three entirely different brands and they all ended up looking exactly the same. I wondered if it had something to do with them being creams and how they react with skin. And I'll mention another disappointment. The swatches online for these products can really vary. The Undone Beauty cream blush I received was nothing like the color online. And the Laura Geller was not much better. Oh well, it happens with other products, too. I'll live. HA!!!

@pupwhipped - My favorite blush is LG, with one Hourglass shade mixed in!

Recently I was in Sephora and let myself be talked into Rare Beauty's LIQUID blush. Of course they had one left in my perfect color Bliss because they can't "keep it in stock." LOL!

First, I don't think I've ever had a liquid blush before. Second, I'd never heard of Rare Beauty. I found out it was a line by Selena Gomez! That alone would have prevented my buying it! I try not to patronize singers/actors/famous people who slap their name on a product while someone else does the work!

But I already had it on and I liked it! So I had to make sure they are cruelty free, and they are.

I only use two small dots and blend it in. It looks natural and lasts all day. I ended up ordering the 3-shade kit, but it hasn't come yet. Overall, I'm impressed!  Smiley Happy

I recently bought a cream blush from Milk...I chose the lightest pink, which barely shows on my fair skin...aside from the pale color, my face is sticky, and my hair sticks to the blush.  So, all said, I think I hate it.  I've topped it with my powder blush, and translucent powder, so really,  why bother with this cream blush??

I highly recommend the new Tarte cream blushes (in the tube) that are out right now.  I have found they last even when wearing a mask.  Takes one or two uses to get the correct amount for your liking. I have also just tapped what is leftover onto my eye lids and walked right out the door, for a simple makeup day. My powder blushes have been sitting unused since I bought the two Tartes two moths ago.

I used to use BB pot rouge and it was ok. But I noticed that powder blush didn't look bad on my less than perfect skin, so I went back to powder blush. I use Laura Geller, but stay away from shimmer. Some of her older blushes were matte, called "sugar-free".

I don't put creams or liquids on top of powder.  So that's my first suggestion.

Are all 3 of the blushes similar shades to begin with?  I always seem to lean towards the same colors in different brands.

I do sometimes start with a cream blush and once I set my make up with a powder, it looks a little muted.  So then I will put a powder blush on top.  It does help with the staying power.  However, just like lipstick I usually have to apply blush throughout the day.  I usually touch up around my nose, too.  You know the old "powder my nose" :-)
