Re: Help me with my lips please!

If you have a line and difficulty eating then please see a doctor. It might be a fungal infection but the doctor would know best. It will save you a lot of money by purchasing what the doctor recommends than trying numerous other options.

@Ronettes

Have you tried the lip balm version of this?  If so, which one do you prefer?  I have the little jar like the one you posted, but I'm curious whether or not the balm is just as effective.

Re: Help me with my lips please!

Thank you so much for all of your responses!!!! So helpful. I went to the drugstore and spoke to the pharmasist. He didn't know what could cause it but he suggested using Abreva and the Dr. Dans so that is what I am doing. If it doesn't improve I will see the doctor. Thanks again.

@Squirrel Lover   Just an fyi .... if you don't find Abreva helpful, don't be discouraged.  Fever blisters have to run their course.  I've yet to find any over the counter medication to be all that helpful.

Good luck to you.

I'd go to the dermatologist and not try to "self treat".  All of those items could add up.

I am having severe lip dryness and chapping on my lips. I have a ring around the lips themselves, not on the skin around the lips, with small fluid-filled bumps near the edges. I can't put anything on them and eating hurts. I have never had this before.

I don't know what is causing it. I don't lick my lips ever. I have been under stress in the last two months because we decided to sell our home, put our stuff in storage and move in a small apartment until we retire in two years so we can pay cash for our retirement house. Could that cause this lip problem or could it be a medical issue? Please advise.

I've been using Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment for over 30 years.  The white tube, not the waxy stuff.  I cannot be without it.
