So I have those nasty undereye bags. They come and go and I use a gua sha to help with lymphatic drainage. It helps a little. The other night while using my pop sonic to wash my face, I wondered how/if it would work on the puffy under eyes. I use the same motion as the gua sha and my face is wet and slippery with my cleaner. The difference is the vibrating motion.
Do you think this is ok/safe and not detrimental to my undereye area? It seems to work a little better than the gua sha. I've only done it 2-3 times. I apply the same light pressure as I do with my gua sha.

Thanks

I usually get puffy under-eyes, not bags, with water retention...comes and goes depending on a few things such as my diet (salt) and water intake before bedtime. My BP med does it, too. I just make sure I drink enough water during the daytime, watch my salt intake (which I normally do) and stop with drinking water after 5 or 6pm. I don't mess with trying to manipulate my under-eye area b//c that doesn't do anything for me except make it slightly red right there.
ETA-
I don't have bags b/c I had skin-tightening laser treatments done and that prevented bags from forming. Now it just get occasional puffiness, completely different thing.

I dont know what this product is supposed to do. A friend of mine had under eye bags for years. Tried everything. For her 50th she had them surgically corrected. Over 10 years later and she still looks great!

The permanent solution to get rid of undereye bags is surgery. I had it done several years ago by my cousin who is a plastic surgeon. I also had an upper eyelid lift. He did a FANTASTIC job and did it for free.

I don't have bags under my eyes and I don't know what a guasha is and also don't know what that purple device is, but I have used a clarisonic for years. While it cleans my face really well I never get it near my eyes. Like @SilleeMee I don't mess with my eyes a lot. Very little eye makeup and a lot of times, I forego eye make up. The less you mess with that tender area to me, the better.
My cousin had bags under her eyes and nothing worked. They went from bags to folds. She too went under the knife and boy what a change. I'm a chicken and there's no way.

I had my upper eye lids done. Local anasthestic, procedure and healing totally painless. Procedure is quick. So happy to be able to wear eye makeup again
and not look tired!

I wouldn't want to subject the delicate skin under my eyes to that, but that's just me.

I saw a rock bottom price for the PTR Firm X Eye Tightening product for the undereye area recently on ebay, so I fgured, what the heck. It is amazing, my undereye with this on is all smoothed out, and so far I dont see the white residue as in so many of these kinds of products. You can mix it with a little concealer and eye gel or cream if desired. You can definitely feel it go to work, the undereye area really feels tight after.

@monicakm I don't think I would use a vibrating scrub under my eyes. I do use glycolic pads and PTR retinol. I don't have puffiness under my eyes. I used to use a clarisonic to clean my face and I may have passed it over my eyes, but I didn't linger there. The vibration scrub just feels like a bad idea. Like it may stretch the skin.
I have always heard to avoid rubbing my eyes.
I hate to make comments when I don't know, so I ended up looking online. The instruction sheet for the Popsonic spade referred to the numbered areas in the graphic below as the cleansing areas. None of the numbers look to me as covering undereye puffiness, but you can judge for yourself.
The instructions further referred to massaging waves on the other side of the spade which "are effective in diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles." using anti-aging cream or serum is recommended but not required. It says to use the spade to massage the areas of your face and neck that you would like to firm up.
But I don't think this massaging is for the eyes. I really wouldn't use it at all, I would stick to the gua sha and the roller, which glide, don't rub. I bought a stainless steel roller and I love it, but never make the time to use it. I haven't used a sonic tool on my face for years.
In a section of "things to know" the spade instructions state "use particular care around your eyes and avoid contact with eyelids and eyes themselves."
Using this massage function under the eyes strikes me as the same as rubbing. So I googled that.
A 2008 ABC article states "rub[bing] your eyes can cause the skin there to be irritated, so it may look red or swollen. If you persistently rub your eyes, your skin there will thicken sort of like a callous." Another 2008 ABC article states that rubbing your eyes (or face for that matter) in the same place and in the same direction repeatedly would cause wrinkles. Another article I read states that "aggressive rubbing [around the eye] will thin out and wear down your skin over time. This will not only make the skin weaker and more susceptible to wrinkles, but can also worsen the appearance of dark circles." It further states to avoid tugging harshly at your eyes to get makeup off, which causes serious long term damage. “Eyelid skin is delicate, and traumatizing it with repetitive tugging can cause unwanted fine lines over time." They said to remove makeup with a powerful makeup removing micellar water that will melt away your makeup without much physical force, using a cotton pad or a Q-Tip to apply the micellar water, and gently and slowly swipe away any stubborn eye makeup." (I think you have said you do this.) Follow-up with anti-aging eye serum. It further states to apply eye cream without tugging or rubbing around the eyes because that can cause the skin to thin and wrinkle. Instead, gently pat it into the skin with your fingertips." I have always heard about this patting thing, but I remember the Perricone lady saying that was nonsense.
So that is what I think of the spade idea.
But I thought maybe you would be interested in a product I ran across while looking for the spade instructions in Amazon. It is a "FOREO IRIS Eye Massager Dark Circle Remover & Eyebag Remover Eye Depuffer Anti Aging Increases Absorption of Eye Mask Essences| Waterproof 2-year Warranty" for $74.50, 1/2 off the regular price.
It has good reviews.

But maybe the roller and gua sha are just as good. I am sticking with that, if anything.
