One must suffer for beauty.
With practice, you'll get faster.

Oh Wow, I have them in my wish list, now I am having second thoughts!

I don't recall having the problem with the rollers I used. Mine had an edge around the bottom and top that didn't get very warm, so I used those to hold while I rolled my hair. If your rollers are too hot, you may want to pull the rollers off the heating element before you start rolling your hair and allow them to cool a little before you roll. You can do it in sections, so you don't wind up removing all the rollers before you start and having the last ones get too cool to work as well. Giving them a short amount of time to cool should still keep them warm enough to effectively curl your hair since you'll be leaving them in your hair.

If it's that hot aren't you concerned about burning your hair?

I can sympathize since I kept telling "ouch, ouch" during my first try. I still am heating up my fingertips but not as much. I try to hold onto the ribbed edges....it doesn't always work.
However, I have had really good luck with them. Perhaps because I am using a longer roller...I don't know but they give my hair so much curl that hangs around for a few days and that has not been my prior experience with hot rollers.
Queenfrannie, good point. I guess not any more than with a hot iron or even the blow dryer. I have fine hair but a lot of it with ugly waves that are randomly scattered around my head. To get it straight I have to use quite a bit of heat.
However, I only wash and style my hair every three/four days.

I never get burned with mine. I love them---Jilbere by Conair (formerly Baby Bliss), found at Sally's.

Interesting topic -- I recall her saying during the presentation that the rollers never get too hot and no need to worry about burning your fingers. I have also been considering ordering them, but was concerned about the size of the small rollers --- can't imagine where I would use them!!
Sorry that you are having this problem -- definitely concerning and annoying! The rollers are not cheap...
