Re: Had a professional facial

[ Edited ]

@smoochy I always use a cleansing oil or balm in the evening, to remove sunscreen and makeup. I follow that with a gentle lotion cleanser and the one I'm currently using is by Laroche Posay. I liked it well enough to reorder it and I'm the type who likes to try new cleaners. I just got a notification today that Laroche Posay has just come out with a cleansing oil that foams when you add water, so I'm assuming they're rolling two steps into one? Sounds interesting. They have great products for dry and sensitive skin.

@smoochy  you have some very good advice here and glad  you enjoyed your facial.

@Sillimee and other's I mentioned a few months back I'm using Neutrogena's new "gentle facial cleanser".  I'll attach a picture.

I do not wear any product on my face to sleep, only cleanse. I know I'm odd but can't stand anything greasy on my face while sleeping.  Since my cool peel laser tresatments my skin is baby smooth and shiny - almost greasy like my teens when I wake up.  (I'll give my final thoughts on it 3 months from now.  (I am still so sun sensitive, it's awful)

My question is, I'm really fair and  really really like this one.  What do you think?  It is kind to red prone skin and non drying.  Thanks.

@monicakm  I don't wash my face in the morning other than a good rinse either.  I never understood that one and IMO it's overkill drying.

I use Oil of Olay or Dove soap to wash my face, and moisturize with Olay complete moisturizer.  At night, while sleeping, I use a heavier cream on my face - - usually a thin coat of Eucerin.

These products work well for me and I can't see the need to pay some of the outrageous prices for fancy products.

I've learned that a "night cream" type product causes whitehead breakouts on my face. Too rich. What type of skin do you have?

I'd say normal to slightly dry.  I never have an issue with whiteheads or any kind of breakout.

I treated myself to a Hydrafacial.

The first appointment addressed dryness/patchy areas as well as pores and milla. The treatment used a suction instrument to help remove flakes and face junk. I hope after a couple of appointments I can get back to home products.

I'm also investing in a Dr Gross LED face mask and am adding collegen.

I've never used that Neutrogena cleanser but if it works for you then keep using it. When you find things that work, sometimes that's like finding a treasure.

Yes @SilleeMee thanks.   it does not foam so it says and it run's clear.  I think it's a keeper.

DOVE moisturizing bar.
Creamy and not drying, leaves no residue.
1.48 a bar versus your 48.00 recommended by the massage person.

@smoochy  I like La Roche Posay Toleraine Hydrating Gentle cleanser (very creamy). A fairly big bottle costs approx. $18.00. It's available at Ulta and many other retailers.

I use and enjoy Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Softening Cream Cleanser.  It's only $18 for 8 oz.
